i was wondering if anyone knew when or if the current mappack will be free? (like the halo 3 ones)

also i want them to have ahuge patch to the game to add more guns and perks!!! tho thats just wishful thinking

I dont think it will be free.

The GOTY edition comes with free maps though

I don't think the CoD2 maps ever went free. It's not Halo.

I don't know about America, but in Europe the GOTY-edition is 10 euros more than the regular edition so there's nothing "free" about those maps, even though the sticker on the box says otherwise.

Don`t forget Ubisoft. Vegas1 red and black map packs, Vegas 2 fan packs. They also released some free GRAW maps. That`s a lot better than some old Halo maps.

no they are others ubisoft, epic but call of duty past form has been if u have to buy them then they stay they price. cod 2 and cod 3 dlc is still full price years later i think with activision what they tend to do is if they going to give away something free they bring out like a map or two for free alongside the premium map pack u have to pay for. thats what they did on cod2 and cod3 anyways. but no free maps at all with cod4. probally because they knew they wud sell loads of them regardless of offering a map or two for free to temp people to enjoy dlc. same with gitar here they always knock out a free track or two once in a while when bringing out some dlc they want to push its upto the companies if they make them free afterwards, bungie, ubisoft and epic done the best so far i think. they had some content you buy and they always made stuff free afterwards and even done offers making the price drop after so long and making stuff free too. cant fault them guys at all. i dont mind paying for some dlc, some is really good but always a nice bonus when they are some u ignore when they charge for them then one day u log in and they free, nice little suprise. makes up for people who just never drop the price even when the games worthless 2nd hand and no ones playing it.

They aren't ever going to make it free. They probably won't even make new maps given that the new Call Of Duty game is due in 3 months...
