Free Month Trial Not Working. Could Use some help.

I just signed up to live for the first time ever, I used my Hotmail ID, but I can't play online =( Theres is NO information about this in the manuals =( Should I delete my existing account and try again? Is that possible? Or is there some way to trigger the free month? I wanna play against you guys =( just got gears 2!

Did you just make an account up on the 360 AND use a trial card, or just made an account?

I just made an account! No trial card, is a trial card supposed to come with the console? I bought an arcade if that helps!

The arcade doesn't come with a trail card. Is it a brand new arcade?

Did you buy the console new? If it is used them the 3 accounts might already be used. Also Gears 2 has a 48 hr free gold trial so you could use that for the next couple days.

Ya, it is, bought it brand new today, I thought a had a free 1 month trial =( Does that mean I need to pay for live?

What I would do then is make another account. If that one doesn't get the free gold trial, then I would call CS.

When you made your new account you choose to have a silver xbox live membership, at which point it should have said you are entitiled to one month of free gold. Have you had an account before with that email by chance? If so you might have to use a different email for the account.

I might have played around with live on the PC, but it's been so long I don't even remember, if PC live accounts don't count I really have no clue, this is my first day ever with a 360.

Your pc windows ID is linked to your gamertag if you use the same email address. That is how you can get gamerscore for games for windows and xbox games on the same gamertag. Not sure if that is the issue but if you have been using that info for pc it might be causing the problem. You might just have to make a new account with a different email like the other guy said and see if that works.

Your pc windows ID is linked to your gamertag if you use the same email address. That is how you can get gamerscore for games for windows and xbox games on the same gamertag. Not sure if that is the issue but if you have been using that info for pc it might be causing the problem. You might just have to make a new account with a different email like the other guy said and see if that works.Wunderkid7

You would end up having to pay 1600 micrsoft points(20$s) to get the name back as it would be 800 to change the first account name away from the one you want and another 800 to change the 2nd one to what the first one was. I think you can cancel\delete the first account if you call microsoft BUT i dont think that frees up the Gamertag(nickname)

You might be able to go to the account management for the name you want and see if there is an option to cancel membership for that gamertag. Problem now is that if you do have the chance to delete the original account you will have to pay 800 MS points to change your 2nd account's name. I guess you would need to delete the membership for the 1st and then make a new 3rd account after that one is deleted so that you can have the name and not have to pay.
