CoD 1, the original on the PC. My favorite. I remember buying a PC specifically for that game. Next would be CoD4 cuz the campaign and the single/player is really good.
But yes, CoD1 was revolutionary for its time. I still love it. Even the expansion was great too.
call of duty 3 for multiplayer, it was alot more balanced and being a medic was just so much win. Shotgun + teammate + medic revival = dont make the medic mad or he'll betray camp you for hours
anyone whos played cod 4 before cod: waw will almost always pick cod 4. World at War is just a mod/ reskin of 4 with a lazy single-player and worse weapons/maps. It almost pains me when Treyarch milks/ makes money from a formula that IW perfected. Not only will it kill the franchise quicker, but when they release a half-baked sequal like cod 3 or waw is makes IW's job that much harder to give the franchise respect again. Ex. Very few people expected cod 4 to be that good because of how bad 3 was. Im rather excited to hear that IW is breaking away and starting their own spin-off. but knowing Activision, theyll probably assign Treyarch to the Modern Warfare franchise when IW makes it amazingly successful. In short im just trying to say that it angers me to have someone be successful from someone elses idea/ formula. COD 4 all the way. The original not far behind.
would have to say number 2 because ww2 shooters never done anything for me until i was recommended the game COD 2 was the first of the series I played and the first to get me hooked on live after that COD 4
modern warfare is the best w/o a doubt. It really saved the COD name. but now they are going solo, Modern Warfare 2 will probably put COD out of its misery if u ask me.
Call of Duty 1, for sure. That game was quite unique for its time. Very cinematic and less linear than its Medal of Honor counterpart. Call of Duty 2 was pretty great too. Brought next-generation graphics to the PC. By the time Call of Duty 4 came out, I grew bored of the series. It's the same stuff, different setting. Call of Duty 4 was even shorter than the already short CoD1. CoD1 had much better multiplayer too. CoD1>CoD2>CoD4>CoDWaW>CoD3
Cod4 definitely. It kept me addicted for a long time, though I cannot forget my original favorite, cod2, which got me into the series. Yes though, cod4 is the cake for me haha....the cake is not a lie btw
CoD: United Offensive. Awesome game. Then CoD 4, hands down for it's outstanding multiplayer. WaW and CoD 3 are bad games. Both for almost identical reasons (No doubt given they are both Treyarch games.) such as horrible hit detection, poor matchmaking, muddy graphics (I know I know, they wanted it to look all war-torn, but they fail miserably at it,) and just a general headache of a game.
