Hey guys, gonna rent some movies n a game for when i get back on haloween.

Im a real newb on the horror genre, and a biotch (little things make me scared alot) so i would love a really extreme game so i have nightmares lol.

I care about fun FPS action the most. Aslong as it looks good and is horror. I would rather have a game with great FPS action with mediocre horror and visuals then a great looking extremely scary game with horrible action.

So, whats a very fun horror game to rent? Asume you have never played a horror game on the xbox 360 before (so no nostalgic feel). Silent Hill? Alone in the Dark? Dead Space?

Thanks guys ;)

Bioshock?, not exactly scary, but a game everyone should have experienced.

Otherwise, I'd go for Dead Space.

Dead Space or Left 4 Dead should be your choice on this one. You could ALMOST call Fallout 3 a survival/horror, but some people don't. But Fallout 3 is quite amazing, I do recommend it. If RPG's aren't your choice, definitely go with Dead Space. Unless you're looking for cheaper games, then I would suggest Condemned 1 or 2, or FEAR.

Condemned and FEAR are both better than any newer ones.

I hate when people say horror games don't scare them. As long as it makes your jump and isn't intended for children, it's considered a horror game. I enjoyed the original Resident Evil games before they turned it into an action-survival game. I'm looking forward to RE5 and I hear alot of good things about Dead Space, I doubt I'll get scared but the look of the game is intended to be scary/horror, whenever I get some excess money i'll rent/purchase it.

As for recommendations... RE, F.E.A.R., and Silent Hill.

Resident Evil series - I kind of like the whole shooting up zombies and surviving/exploring thing.

The Thing - This is an older game, for the PS2/Xbox and so on. It's pretty damn good though and there's a very eerie feel to it, made me jump a lot when I played.

Dead Rising - This is not scary by any means... but it's a fun horror game (which is what you're looking for) so I do recommend it.

Dead Space - Never played it yet, but I've seen gameplay and things like that and it looks like a good game for this occasion.

Crank up your home theater for Dead Space. I've never jumped soo many times during a game and actually feared something in the game was behind me. Very rare to have a game where you're constantly watching your back.

I have not played the new silent hill yet, but the older ones of those always got me in some way or another.

Bioshock is pretty fun, its not exactly scary, but like said above, something everyone should experience.

I've heard dead space is an awesome game.

I've played Dead Space and Silent Hill:HC...I'll be honest, I didn't enjoy Dead Space as much as I thought. Yes, I know im in the minority but its the truth...I found about 4 hours in that the initial novelty and feelings wore off...quickly. I finished Chapter 5 but didn't really get motivated to finish it. It definitely does a lot of things great, but for me it didn't hold my interest. I finished Silent Hill...it was decent, i personally thought the first half was better than the second half (most say its the other way around)...by 3/4 done I just wanted it to end. Both are still very good rentals...you cant go wrong with either. And I am a horror game fan, some of my past favs are the original Resident Evil's, Silent Hill 1 and 2 & condemned.

Out of those Dead Space is the most fun as the combat is extremely satisfying, though its not all that scary compared to Silent Hill: Homecoming in my opinion. If you want the scariest and most fun experience on 360 go with Condemned: Criminal Origins. That games combat is so simple yet extremely fun, and the horror factor is there 100%. It didn't win IGNs scariest next gen game for no reason.

I would get both Silent Hill (any of the games) and Dead Space. While it's not crap your self scary there are some really good jumpy moments (oh and agreed with the sound, turn the sound up and play in the dark it's immence)

It really is. It's more the scary type though. If you like flat out ceepy and still haven't played Bioshock yet, then get to it!
