I've completed a few games but I usually don't worry about them. What are some fun games you can just play-through and get a reasonable number of achievement points from it, without guides or even looking at the achievements?

I got 590 points on my first play through of Batman AA: GOTY. There was one achievement that I specifically tried to get (the one where you glide continuously for 100m) and it was super easy. All of the achievements come as you play through the game, most of them are "secret" achievements that unlock each time you beat a boss or pass a significant part of the story. Easiest achievement points ever. Plus if you play through on Hard you unlock the Normal and Easy completion achievements when you finish the game (150 points total).

Fallout New Vegas has really easy achievements. You'll get almost all of them without even trying.

what!? i got over 700 within one playthrough of assassin's creed!! and i barely went for any achievements. the only difficult one (and it's not even hard) is the flag collecting because that is just annoying.

Here are a few games with easy achievements - Call of Duty 2. Just make sure to play on veteran and you will get them all by end with no questions or exceptions as it would be physically impossible not to, as it is just "complete the game on veteran". The other achievements in the game is "complete training" which you won't miss as you have to do it in the campaign to advance, and the other is to complete the game on any difficulty, but if you do it on veteran, as already stated, you will get them all in one playthrough. You can actually get a lot of achievement points on all Call of Duty games just by simply completing the campaigns on veteran :). Duke Nukem - Manhattan (Project) on XBLA - There are just two achievements you may miss... although, you may only actually miss one. Basically 9 of the achievements are pretty much "complete every chapter in the campaign". The other 3 include getting 120 (I think) of these collectables, but it is a side-scroller and I got mine without any guides wayyy before the end as most of them seemed pretty missable. 120 is about half of the amount you can pick up in the game I believe. The other one is to just kill 75 enemies. I believe I got this on either the first or second mission. Completely unmissable, unless you jumped over every enemy possible and ignored them :P Assassin's Creed II (especially, out of all the AC games). If you take your time and actually complete everything in the game (or well, the story and some side missions) you will get most of the points. I admit, I did go the extra mile and get a few achievements afterwards specifically, but by the end of the game I got around 850g without even trying. Battle for the Pacific - Not a popular game at all, but very easy achievements. Just complete the entire game on any difficulty (I think? if not, it's a very easy game anyway). I completed this in a day in about 2 hours... it is possibly the shortest game I have ever played, but it is still good :P. Unfortunately, you will only get about half of the entire achievements though, as the online is completely dead. All of the single player campaign achievements just requires you to complete the game. No such thing as "get ___ kills with *insert weapon* or any pickups etc. to worry about here. I think it adds up to around 500g when you complete the campaign. If you need any more, feel free to let me know :).

Surprised no one has mentioned Borderlands yet.

You are pretty much guaranteed 800+ points on your first playthrough. The few ones you might specifically have to go for are extremely quick and can be acquired anytime. The last ~200 just requires you to complete a few simple things in co-op (killing a boss with another player, winning an arena match, etc.), and to reach a certain character level that is a given if you start a second playthrough.

Borderlands has one of the best achievement systems to me. Unlike Black Ops where I earned ~200 for one entire campaign playthrough, with zero to be had from online play, and the last 800 or so from "Do X thing you normally wouldn't have done in Y level" tasks, along with completing the game on higher difficulties.

I got all of the achievements minus the intel (andzombies)in one playthrough of Black Ops. I did look at the achievements before I played, though. I have 100% on it (including DLC) and I've only fully completed 10 or so games in six years.

I second borderlands. 1500+ acheivement points here, and the vast majority i wasn't trying to get.

Bioshock 1 and 2 both reward 700+ acheivement points on the first playthrough.

True, if you look at the achievements as you go along you can definitely get a lot of them, though some of them are skilled-based (kill X thing with only two shots of Y weapon) and you might have to replay the level for them. I usually don't look at achievements beforehand (to add surprise) so unfortunately I ended up with around ~200. Still, I dislike the way achieves were handled in Black Ops.
