Hey guys, just wondering on your opinion. What game will take game of the eyar in 09. Gears OF War 2? Fallout 3? Fable 2? ETC?

Killzone 2 or Resident Evil 5 for 09

I would put my money on Fable 2, but Gears 2 will be my personal favorite.

I may be going out on a limb here, but being a Star Wars fanboy. I'm gunna say The Force Unleashed. Oh and episodes 1-3 never happened.

Resident Evil 5 doesnt come out till March of 09, but yes it will win game of the year of 09... and id say probably either Gears 2 or Fallout 3 will win game of the year, both look to be awesome games.

MGS4 will get animated movie of the year, or something along those lines.

You're a Star Wars fanboy and you don't know that it's 12 "parsecs" and not "parseps"? Anyway, I'll just say uh... Far Cry 2.

Nominees for Spikes GOTY will probably be:

GTA4
MGS4 (Possible winner)
Gears 2 (Another winner)
Fable 2
Fallout 3

Maybe throw in Bioshock for PS3 cause you never know, and it'd be the most ****c thing if they win.

Who are you using as your guide for "GOTY"?

I'd imagine it would be pretty hard for an "Exclusive" game to get GOTY in a open poll since Sony fanboys would never vote for Halo, Gears or Fable and hardcore 360 owners wouldn't vote for LBP or MGS4 which would cut their chances in half. From the show's and awards I saw, thats why COD 4 got GOTY.

If you're talking about getting GOTY for each individual console then I think it is a two horse race for PS3 with MGS 4 (if it is eligible from 2008 ) and LBP.

Speculating for the 360... I'll say Gears 2 and Fallout 3 would be the biggest chances... I'll go with Gears just because it has multiplayer.

For the Wii.... no idea... probably some Mario game with pretty colours that makes you look like you're having a seizure when you play.

OVERALL... I think it will be a tight one between Fallout 3, Rock Band 2 and maybe Guitar Hero: World Tour. Hoping Fallout 3 but the wider audience for RB 2 could get it over the top.

Oh and on the PC..... Spore.

Well first for 2008 i think its going to come down to Gears of War 2 and Fallot3. For 2009 i think it will be RE5 that will take it.

Goty 2008 will be Fallout 3.

It will come down to MGS4, Fallout 3 and GTA4.

gamespot will definitely give it to mgs4. they gave it a 10 after gtaIV so that means (according to them) that it raises the bar above it. I got the feeling that they're going to be hard on the other Holiday contenders like they were on mass effect last year.

I would give it to fallout 3 or fable 2 if they deliver.

either gta4 or mgs4, fable 2 wont take it, fallout and gears2 have a chance but i just don't see gta and mgs losing.
