I'm 15 years old, obviously younger than the 17+ target for M games.  I know it's store's policy not to sell games to underage kids, but do they really check ID?  Mainly Best Buy and Gamestop...are those places easy to get M rated games for kids under 17?  I've never tried it...seems like all the good games are M except a few good ones and sports.
Thanky.

Its completely stupid. They card kids for video games because a pop-up comes on the register (I work at a walmart), but anything else they can walk in and rent movies from blockbuster, go into the theater, etc.
People need to prioritize more

It is possible to get by just by saying you're 17 (and looking it obviously-I'm fairly big for my age so I could pass for 17 at a quick glance) but without ID?

i remember hearing that in the news but back then it was just a bill, not sure if it has been passed yet.

And the EB around me always ID's, and the guy is an ass about it too. So one time when he was extra annoying about it, i said"You know what, i'm fine with not buying the game here, i'll just go somewhere else, meanwhile you have to live with that you are a 30 year old guy working at EB games and i have seen your mom drop you off."

Yea that didn't help any. I know i'll always be carded by him from now on. It was well worth it though.;)

EBGames always asks me for ID and since I dont have a drivers licence, and I dont carry my passport around, I just go to future shop they, never ask there and if they do i'll just get my friend who works there to help me out. EBgames is just retarded, apperently 5 different cards with my picture and stuff arn't good enough.

at my EB games they have never carded, and the only time they asked me my age was when i bought GTA SA when i was 14, and they just said what year were born. As long as you can recite an appropriate birthdate in case they ask youll be fine

I'm barely 17 and I've only been carded once at Gamestop. I go there a lot though and I do have quite a bit of facial hair haha.

But the true question is, why can't you just have your parents with you? I mean, come on, it's not that hard.

At EB Games, the ESRB does sting operations; If a person sales a M rated game to a kid under 17, that person will be fired, no questions asked. It is not worth losing your job because some kid under age wants a M rated game. If you want a M rated game make your parents buy it. Try to make them understand that the M for violence, sex, nudity isn't such a big deal. If they say no, dont blame the people who work at the stores, blame your parents
