I have it but I can't say I really love it. Maybe because I also use Netflix and their service is SO much better.
It's nearly impossible to get the new popular games, and sometimes even the older popular games. They never get enough copies of the newest games and they seem to send the ones they have to people on their free trial (because, obviously, they want them to become paying mambers), and they sell the older games, so they don't have as many copies and you have to wait ages to get them.
When I first bought my 360 in early February I had 7 360 games in my queue... some brand new ones, some relatively old ones like Gears of War and Crackdown. They sent me the PSP game that was #8. In fact, I have still not played GoW or Crackdown.
Also, their turnaround time still kind of sucks, though in the year I've used them it has improved. I can drop off a Netflix movie and a Gamefly game at the post office early Monday afternoon, and I have a new movie on Wed... if I'm lucky I'll get a game on Fri or Sat, but often it's the following Monday. Of course, this all depends on your proximity to the distribution centers.
They have raised their price by a couple dollars a month since I joined too, which is annoying... Netflix has lowered theirs. Obviously games cost more to purchase than DVDs and people keep them longer in general, so I can understand why one costs more than the other, but if you're not making any vast improvements to your service, it's not a good idea to make your customers pay more.
On the bright side... I love being able to keep the games as long as I want, and you can get good deals on them if you want to keep them too. Those are the two things that have really kept me using them.
I suggest going for whatever free trial they're offering and try it out... just know that once you start paying it's going to be really hard to get the games you want.
I had it and I liked it but like devil said they don't have enough copies of their games.I waited a month for condemned 2 and finally I just ended up going to blockbuster to pick it up because I was tired of waitingBryman303
I've found myself doing the same thing a couple times... you really want to play that new game, but Gamefly can't seem to get it to you, so you end up renting it somewhere else. Kinda defeats the whole purpose of gamefly.
Get it, its great, don't u hate buying a game that costs 60 bucks and beating it in less than 2 days or jus figuring out it sucks and u won't ever play it again, well i did every once in a while and thats y i decided to get gamefly and i been a member since last summer, its great, and plus if u work and don't have too much time, u can hold them for as long as u want till u beat it or just want something elsebrownpriderider
Lol, you sound exactly like an advertisement. Anyways, a friend of mine uses gamefly and it's been working out fine for him, no complaints.
Im thinking about getting gamefly mainly because im tight on money and everyone on the whole freakin world promised me GTA4 was the best thing since sex. Anyway, What are Customers/Ex-Customers Think about Gamefly? Is Gamefly the best rental service out there?SaintJimmmyI enjoyed them quite well during my time and I received all the new 360 games in my "Q" first. You have to know when to time the release and make sure you take all the old games out and leave in the ones that are going to be released in a couple of days. I stopped using Gamefly due to the fact that I had about 3 disk stolen and it wasn't from out our mailbox because it's a lockable mailbox. So it was some time durring transit by the same scum bag!!!
