I have managed to get two gamertags with the same ID on my 360. One is for Xbox live, one for the Xbox itself. This causing me all kinds of odd problems. If I sign into Live, when I start a game in my disk drive it doesn't bring up saved games because they are tied to my non-live ID. There a way to fix this?

Would deleting one profile fix the problem?

I thought about that, but they both have the same name and I don't know which is which. If I deleted them both could I recover the Live one? What would that do to my downloaded and saved games?

No. The non-live achievements don't show on the live account. It's a pretty new system so I don't have many. Losing them would not be a big deal.

yah i have the same issue with my xbox because i had an old profile and somebody already had my name when i got xbl. So i have to profiles and one has all my gs and the other doesn't. I don't know if there's a way to copy and swithc files between gamertags like in the old days with memory cards. I sure hope so because I don't want to have to play through all the games again to get those scores back. However, that one happen because my xbox broke and it's being repaired at M$ **sigh**

I had a similar problem the other day. I went to a friends and recovered my profile on his xbox, got some achievements, went home and the next day I couldn't recover it back on my xbox. Tried loads of things but it was saying the Windows Live ID and password didn't tally! In the end I grabbed my same gamertag from xbox.com (how was this even possible, as I've been using it on Live for over a year??) and used the same WIndows Live ID, password etc as I was before. Next I turn on my xbox and it says a profile is available to recover. I tried to recover as usual with my usual details, but it has now recovered my new profile (with the same gamertage) but obviously I now have no friends, gamerpoints, Microsoft points or Gold Membership. Argghh! WTF!!?
