my friend has two gamertags on the same windows-live account. A silver and a gold membership. He wants to recover the gold gamertag but everytime he triesit tells him his windows-liveaccount is for the silvergamertag and will only let him recover the silver gamertag. How can he recover hisgold gamertag?
thats impossible. you cant have two gamertags for one email. he must have forgot the email to one of them, or remembers using an email that he really didnt.

These guys dont know what they're talking about. I am having the same problem too. not two accounts, TWO GAMER TAGS for one email. I log in the xbox its AccountA when i log into the computer its AccountB.
But did you ever get this fixed? I've had this problem for 1.5 years and i've spoke with 8 microsoft people about it. 3 over the phone for roughly 2-4 hours each. while the rest either didnt understand my problem or escalated it and all i got was some stupid website that they thought would fix my problem.
