Which game has actually helped you in a real life situation, or has given you some advice?

never a situation that helped me, but more negative - espacially driving behind slow people - I wanna go into Grand Theft Auto mode and just plow over everyone in front of me.

Mirror's Edge. I can't tell you how many times jumping from building-to-building has saved me from the cops.

... I'm kidding. Actually, games rarely help me with anything in real life.

i love you too i dont really think many games have taught me anything, other than how to survive a zombie apocalypse, how to not get blown up by aliens that take control of a giant ring in outer space and how to fight creatures that come out of holes in the ground and love something called emulsion

None. I don't think that you can really get help from games in real-life situations. Well, legal ones.

I learned that if i ever see a crazy looking man i should beat him with a metal pipe and perform combos on him. Thank you Condemned and also thank you for not trusting little dolls.

Well, if being shot at, if your eye sight starts to go blurry red, hide for a few moments before coming back out. On a real note:
  • KOTOR taught me how to solve the Tower of Hanoi problem, which I later had to program for a college CS class.
  • Flight sims have taught me I have a better chance of surviving a landing if I use the auto-pilot...
  • Eternal Sonata taught me about Chopin's life, which I was then able to use when talking to a classical music buff.
  • Fire Emblem taught me if you let your friends 'die off' you are going to be very lonely later on and make life harder on yourself.
  • Gran Tourismo, and later Forza, taught me how to handle an out of control car...
  • Morrowind taught me that even though the rules were easy to break, it would just make life boring.
  • LoZ: LttP taught me retired thieves can still be useful later in life.
  • Mirror's Edge taught me that my chances of successfully running away from people trying to shoot me in an area I'm unfamiliar with is suicide... (reload, die, reload, die...) Yeah, won't be trying that in life, I think I'll just lie down instead.
  • Golf games have taught me terms and skills I was able to apply to my real game and with people I talk with
  • The Uninvited taught me that if I'm going to use something from a bottle take the LID off first or suffer the consequences
  • Wing Commander IV taught me that conflicts are actually prevented by debating the facts, not killing the big bad guy
That was just some of the quick things I thought of just looking through my owned games list... But each game I play, that is worth while, usually gives me something to think about and maybe shape a little bit of my own life via my gaming experiences...
