I usually buy my games at walmart and games on demand are the same price of the ones at walmart. I also have to ride my bicycle 20 miles away just to buy a game at walmart. Now I can just sit at home and buy a game. Developers probably make more money since they cut out the middleman. I dont have to risk my life to get a game anymore.I might ride my bicycle 35 miles away for the modern warefare 2 launch at gamestop.

Well, exercising is good for you. Also, why not buying over internet instead? Easy to find prices that save you around 50% compared to games on demand.

exactly what i was gonna say ebay/amazon and gamestop all have deals on games and you wouldnt have to leave your house that is if you have a credit card. If not then i would suggest finding a gamestop or something near besides big stores like wall mart and best buy their prices on always really bid rip offs.

I don't think I will be using it much, though it sounds like it is the best option for you. I personally just like to have a physical copy of my games. I like lineing all of my games up to be able to see what I have, I like looking at the different cover arts, manuals, discs, etc. so for me I think I will always stick with buying the actual game.

Also, it may be worth while to kind of research some of the games before you buy them. For example, I've heard rumors of Bioshock being $5 at some stores that have clearanced it and a lot of the titles I have seen are lower on Amazon and stuff than on Xbox Live, so if you want to save some money it may be worth checking into some of the games before you buy them.

I'm looking forward to trying it just so I can try more demos of games and stuff.

Once they lower the prices and get better games I think it should be okay.

Atleast its worse for us Swedes. Games that goes for 39.99$ which is approx 300sek is selling for 399 on XBL. So to all you US players complaining its expensive, we in Sweden have 25% higher :P But thats how it always is here.

I agree. I think it would be great to get some of the older games that are hard to find now on there. As well as some of the best Xbox games, to avoid having to play the games from disc, using the memory card, buying used, etc. I think more people would use this if they had a lot of older games for lower prices, i.e under $10. I think this would also be a perfect place to do game rentals. Actually, when I first heard about Games on Demand, my first thought was it would be a rental of the game. What I would like to see is a flat fee, says $5, $10 or something like that. Once you pay the fee you get to have the game of your choice for a week, after the week is up the game is either deleted from the hard drive, or you have the option to buy the game (of course all achievements would be saved either way in case you decided down the road you wanted to keep the game) If that were to be an option, I would use it all the time. There are a ton of games for the 360 I would love to try, but don't want to pay full price for because I don't know if I like it and the nearest store to rent games from is too far to mess with, aside from that it tends to be hassle cause half the times the games a scratched, don't work, etc. so I haven't rented a game in years. Demos are great, but they aren't available for every game (I assume this is how it is with the 360, I've only used demos on PS3 because I've not connected the 360 to the internet yet) and they only give you a small taste of the game. Some games have great demos, while others have really bad demos, so being able to pay a small price and really get to try out the game, in my opinion, would be an awesome way to use Games on Demand.

Wait.... where can I find a brand new copy of Mass Effect for 5.99 USD? I've checked the prices on Amazon, Gamestop and Best Buy. Games On Demand prices are generally on par with the prices of brand new copies of games. Sorry. Gamestop and Best Buy just don't sell brand new copies of Kameo and Need for Speed Most Wanted anymore. They're not even listed on the site. In fact, a new copy of NFSMW on Amazon (via independent seller) is gonna run me over 50. Used at Gamestop is still 24.99 while on XBL, it's only 19.99 brand new. So yeah, Games On Demand definitely has its use. In some cases, I'd rather download a brand new copy from XBL instead of settling for a used copy or researching for a deal.

The elitist bastard in me doesn't like hand-me-downs. There's another part of me that actually likes to support the developers...who don't see a penny from used game sales. I don't buy used games. I don't trade them in.
