You need more help than just quitting games.  It is supposed to be something you can get a hold of and not let take over your life.  The problem is you and not the games.  If it wasn't the games it would have been something else, gangs, drugs, sex, date-rape-psychosis, skateboarding, or steroids, but games don't ruin peoples lives, people just try to blame someone else.

ive never had a problem with doing well in school... of course i never stayed up to 1 or 2 in the morning playing games on a school night... not saying you did but hey... anyway i saw an interesting article in the newspaper the other day saying that Video Games are great for training purposes. Especially for the army which is what they are going to be used for in a new study. 6.5 million dollars are going into this program. So i guess there is something to be learned about video games...  here is the article if anyone is interested.

Don't blame games. Your just lazy. I get straight A's. Been Gamming forever. I am sick of people trying to blame games for their problems.

you gotta learn when to stop, try stoping the games an hour early b4 u get to bed and study for quizzes and stuff. when u get home from school play for 2-3 hours, u should get bored most of the times if you dont know what to play. that what happens to me. besides whats more important...getting a highscore in geometry wars, or getting a highscore in school?

A few things. Well number 1, why post it on the 360 board? Number 2, do you think strangers are gonna care about your problem that's easy to control? And lastly, they have groups that treat this. Go find one.

Let me tell you how you can quit. Throw your system away. Throw all the games away and the accessories. And get your GS account banned.

Sounds like you are your own worst enemy. Think about what your problem is, simple, playing to many video games for to long. Now analyze this? What did you come up with? What is your solution? How are you going to make the solution work? It's all your fault buddy, and you have no one else to blame this on but yourself. Do important stuff first (like school work) and then use your left over time to play games, or better yet have friends play games. There are all kind of solutions. GAMES ARE NOT BAD FOR YOU YOU ARE. You make your own decision not the game. No one is twisting your arm to play games. See my point. Not flaming you buddy just trying to help you out.

Its called taking breaks and self control. Because of this reason I don't play video games on week days. Now I am smarter than just about anybody(all gifted/ AP classes), a respected basketball player, and a hardcore gamer. Nonstop Gears of War seccesions on Saturdays...HEHE!

heres a hint.... PUT DOWN THE ******* CONTROLLER! jesus, its not that hard. you just have no will power. i love video games but they dont control my life. i can put down the controller anytime, go do some homework, come back, and continue having fun. when my friends want to go hangout or something, i go. hanging out with your best friends is more valuable than any video game. you should get outside more, go make some friends, possibly get a job, and explore some other interests so video games dont have control of your life.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH you are such a loser, they aren't that addicting. man you'r a joke, just have sum self control and get off when its late or study or do homework when you have to. people like you are pathetic, you just have no life so u waste it away with videogames and blame it on a so called 'addiction'. ill tell you how to solve you're problem: turn the damn thing off and go outside and meet some friends or join a sport.

Wow i stared gaming in about 9th grade, and now im in colloge i had about Cs and Bs befor i started and about Cs to As after i started mostly because it gave me some insentive to get my work done early. Your problem is that you cant stop yourself from doing what you want to do and do what you need to do. You would have the same problem with just about anything you could do easily for fun.

while it is true that that you must limit games for health reasons ( my limit is 3 hours), games don't ruin lives if the gamer is smart. You are just Blammeing somthing else for all of your personnal faults. IT AIN'T GAMES FUALT THAT YOUR A LAZY, MORONIC LOSER, it's yourself. For now, just goddam study more, and get outside.

I used to make straight A's. Now I don't. I'm still the smart one in my group of friends, more philosophical than mathematic. I know a lot about history, am full of trivia, know a great deal about music, and enjoy explaining the theories and philosophies surrounding quantum physics (no coincidences anyone?) to my straight A friends who can do nothing but stare at me blankly. I'm also the annoying friend that corrects everyone's grammar. I hardly ever lose an argument, and when I do I admit it. I do enough in school to pass. Then I just sit back, relax, and read a book or draw while the fools slave away. Mwahaha! When I get home I game it up and spend my weekends with my girl. I like my life. I don't need grades to tell me I'm awesome. My friends say that I could make honor roll if I wanted, and that I'm stupid for not, which is true. I'm just not motivated. "I lack ambition" I am told. I don't blame it on anything but myself though, because I don't suck. Pointing fingers is lame, and for conservatives.

Did I mention that I am the greatest thing since walking on water?

I actually think that games can help you with many skills involving school like math, reading (if there is only subtitles and no voice acting), and critical thinking with things like strategy games and RTS

and i have A's and A-'s its hard to have all A's on a college grading scale :(

i remember when i first started to play games.....my friend brought his super nes or something to my house and we played mario. i had a lot of fun and begged my parents to buy me a system, so they bought me the N64 + zelda and starfox. I've been a gamer addict since then......now im getting horrible grades and school and im always tired...i wish i never played games....i try to quit but i just cant. GAMES ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOU
