Everyone has played a game that they got incredibly frustrated with. Frustrated enough to stop playing the game altogether because it breaks your spirit and kills the fun. Here is a list of games that made me almost commit suicide, but shortly realised it's just not my fortay and I can't squeeze any fun out. Also list games that you gave up on but have a weird sense of confidence and urge to give it another go.

Devil May Cry 3 & 4 (3 is just incredibly hard, I could never get the hang of it and haven't played it again to this day. 4 was just a matter of me not wanting to repeat the first half of the game again. Laziest game ever designed)

Fallout 3 - I made the mistake of playing it like a FPS. I failed with two ill made character builds. I just suck at Bethesda RPGs. I still loved the story, atmosphere and art.

Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 - **** it... Just **** it.

Games I want to give another shot:

Mass Effect (Need to try this games again before Dragon Age comes out. )

Oblivion (Same story as Fallout for me, but I loved the setting of this game)

Your turn.

Usually I quit out of boredom, not frustration. Right now I'm on literally (what I believe is) the last objective for Dragon Rising and I want to break something. I haven't really enjoyed the game so I've kinda been pushing myself to finish which just creates more frustration.

UFC undisputed. I won 16 fights in a row all by ko, I took a fight with kendall grove. because I focused so much on my stand up my ground game sucked for my character and he would take me down n win every time. the problem is I didnt want that loss on my record so I would quit and retry the match and lose to the same way no matter what I did. the way the game is set up you have to pick a fight before you train, then you can only focus on 1 or two things before the fight. On top of that there is no real way to build a all around fighter, or back out of a match up. Need less to say I have not played the game in 2 months or so.

Dead Rising. Ugh! Ephing time limit makes me uneasy and the crap aiming system is crap. Terrible though, I absolutely love the concept and story... but the gameplay mechanics. *groan*

So far the game that I own and have not completed (360 only):

Dead Rising, Bioshock (please don't crucify me), Ninja Gaiden 2, The Darkness, and Prince of Persia.

None of them really frustrated me, actually I quite like all of them, there's just something about them that made me stop playing and I never got an overwhelming urge to finish them.

Ninja Gaiden 2 - that game is so rediculously hard. Awesome gameplay but omg can it get any harder? Still haven't beat the game.

Trials HD - I finally beat the game but it was pretty aggravating until I got the hang of the physics engine.

I managed to stomache some games all the way to the ending. Such as Ninja Gaiden 2, which was awesome btw.

I've given up on a lot though..

Prince of Persia (Lastest one. 360)
The Last Remnant (Amazing game while I played it.. Got bored near the end.)
Infinite Undiscovery (Haven't even gotten to level 10 and gave up)
Call of Duty: WaW (*puke*)

Personally.. Mass Effect was one of the greatest games I've ever played.
However, it's very Fallout 3. In the sense that.. the very beginning is horribly boring and makes you want to never touch the game again. But I can promise you.. if you do pick it up and fight on through to atleast 25% complete.. you'll love the game to death from that point onwards.

Lost Oddysey: bloody random encounters, boring combat system

Gears of War:I kept dying

Tomb Raider Chronicles: it's just really a bad game

NFS Carbon: I hated the weird missions, just wanted to race.

I think I'm going to sell all the above mentioned games.

I've had many games do that to me over the years. Most recently, on the 360? Fight Night Round 4. I'm currently stuck right now where I am trying to build up my character, and the only person I can pick that would let me rank up just beats me down every single time.

I remember quitting COD 3 for a while kept dieing in that very annoying Forest level. Got through that level only through alot of determination and many restarts. Only 575 singleplayer gamerpoints in the game but I got them all and it was very satisfying.

The only game I think I've ever given up on is Ghostbusters. Ghost wrangling was ridiculously cool, but I felt the combat got pretty repetitive and I was pretty bored with the game after a few levels.

Hitman Blood Money. Practically unplayable.

Flamecommando
Why was it unplayable? I thought Blood Money was great. I got all 1000 achievement points on it. Was Blood Money the first Hitman game you played? Two games I stopped playing due to frustration are Lost Planet and Devil May Cry 4. I never really liked Lost Planet to begin with, once it started getting really hard I just couldn't be bothered. Devil May Cry 4 I will eventually go back to. I couldn't get past the fight with Dante in level 10. I tried loads of times but I just couldn't figure it out. He just blocks everything I throw at him. I'm usually good at these games. I've beat Ninja Gaiden Black on Hard and Ninja Gaiden 2 on Warrior. I think I just don't like DMC4 enough to keep trying.

Hitman Blood Money had some bugs here and there. Same goes for the pc version.

I had trouble getting a achievement in the Columbian drug lord level. I carried the mission to the T without any detection and still couldn't get the achievement. It was weird cause my friend was able to get it on his 360, but then there was a achievement he couldn't get that I got. Still it's a fun game.

Assassins Creed - I finished the first area and got sent to the next. Upon arrival I found I had to sneak in the same way as the first city. All of the goals in the city were exactly the same... and now I had beggars that only followed ME around. I took her to a dark alley and put her out of her misery... which cause me to nearly die. I turned the game off and never turned it on again. Why would I suffer this over and over? The graphics were nice, the amount of people in each area was amazing... the game was horrible though. Devil May Cry 4 - I think I got a ways into this one... I stopped playing because I started to find these hidden rooms and such that seemed to have really annoying tasks that you had to have just the right skill build to complete (like jumping on # peoples heads in 30 seconds)... What does this have to do with the game at all? It was enough to annoy me to ignore the storyline and turn it off. I will probably come back to this one though.

Lost Odessy- Great story, but snooze enducing gameplay. Status= Traded in.

Far Cry 2- Constantly respawning enemies lead to incredible tedium and frustration Status= Traded in.

Devil May Cry 4- Just plain boring Status=Traded in.

Sacred 2- Loved the general idea, but it was so incredibly buggy as to be unplayable. Status= Traded in.

I usually don't quit, even if the game is extremely hard or I hate the game. But there's a few:

-F-Zero GX - Ugh, no game has kicked my ass harder and made me walk away a loser than that one -Super Monkey Ball 2 - Never was able to finish a couple of the late stages due to difficulty.

-N+ (XBLA) - I quit that game for about six weeks out of frustration and wanting to destroy my controller as a result of it, although I came back later and toughed it out and wound up finishing.

-Final Fantasy X-2 - I actually got pretty far in that game but just one day literally said to myself "I don't feel like playing this anymore," so I stopped.

-Sins of a Solar Empire - I might come back to it someday because I thought it was good, but at the time I was feeling real lazy and didn't feel like putting in the time needed to learn how to be good at the game.

Only game in recent memory that I just could not continue with was Dead Rising. I know some people out there swear by this game, but I just couldn't deal with working against the clock constantly. Don't see how you could really fail at Fallout 3 when playing it like an FPS unless you just never use VATS. VATS is key unless you get up close and use the combat shotgun (my favorite). If you feel like giving it another try get some points into small guns (that includes rifles and shotguns) early on, should make a big difference when trying to kill things. And yeah, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry are hard games, a lot of difficulty with NG can be mitigated by using the dragon sword and doing the jump+y midair dash attack. A few of those will decapitate enemies no problem.

There aren't any for 360, as there areonly twogames I've played that I haven't beaten: GeOW 2, which was a rental and the disc glitched and Lost Odyssey, which I am currently playing.

But other than 360:

God of War - I just couldn'tnever getpast the swimming part where the spike walls come at you, so that was where I gave up.

Shadow of the Colossus - The only game I've ever taken back to get my money back. I just found it too boring and repetitive.

Battletoads - The turbo tunnel. Enough said. There's a reason GI said that was the #1 gaming screw-over.

I'm sure there are more, especially when you look at NES and SNES, but those are the stand-outs.

all you have to do is time your swim burst move and get to the little pits so you can wait for one of the walls to pass you. That part is more intimidating, considering there are huge spikey walls flying at you, than difficult.

Thanks, but I'm well aware of what you need to do. It's just a matter of being able to do it. I'm sure someday I'll do it, but it just for now it's put aside.

Actually....Vampire Rain Was Just Frustrating As Well....I Did'nt Even Beat That Game....If You Shoot Once Aiming At The Sky The Vampires Would Instanly Appear in Front Of You Even Though It Was Like A Mile Away. Then It Would Bite The CrapOut Of You And You Would Die....Strange Game.

Fable 2 - I just can't seem to sit down and get into this game, I don't know what it is.

Banjo: Nuts and Bolts - I tried giving this game a chance, but I hated it so much. It just felt like a mockery of Banjo-Kazooie to me.

Dead Rising - The game just sucks because it's so broken and awful.

So far this gen I've quitted: Lost Planet Colonies (PC) since it got boring after a while. Eternal Sonata (PS3) I love the game, but I can't find the time to play it. Umbrella Chronicles (Wii) I just play it with a friend, so when Im alone, I just avoid it. H.A.W.X (PC) I can't believe I had to play this crap. Viva Pinata (360) loved the concept, got bored after a couple hours. Still, the style is amazing Banjo Kazooe Nut's and Bolts (360) I could not stand the game, well, I actually despise the franchise so its understandable Too Human (360) So this is what 10 years of development gives us eh? Forgive me for the setting, it seems that it is that way cause of my level.
