Well since, that is ALL they go on about recently? I was surprised too. I went down into the list of x360
Seriously, it is all on SKYRIM! There is other titles out there, that they could, do somereviewing on??
Scores don't mean much, but this is probably about what I would expect.
But I don't get it, Oblivion got a higher score and it was the worst Elder Scrolls game of the lot. Hopefully Skyrim is better despite the score; I am tentatively excited for it.
This is the first game source I go to for reviews, and to be honest, when I found out they gave it just a 9.0, I was kinda disappointed. But then when I looked at the "the bad" they were issues that I could probably overlook. But considering that oblivion got a 9.6 and skyrim got a 9.0 kinda indicates to me that it wasn't much of an improvement but still definitely worth checking out...
Then IGN is a different story. But regardless, I still bet it's a kick ass game.
I'm on of those people that feel that no game should ever receive a perfect 10, so a 9 translates to 'ZOMG this is the shisnit! Can't get any higher than that without adding more caps.
I posted this thread before they'd linked the review to the main page. Also it's just cool to see what people think of the review. I definitely understand them taking points off for bugs and glitches. But having said that, it wouldn't be an Elder Scrolls game without bugs and glitches!whats the point in these threads? i can obviously see the review its on the home page....

To discuss, same as any other thread. Thought that would've been pretty obvious, chief. Anyways, typical gamespot review IMO. Overly focused on the superficial without much substance to it. I no longer take them seriously when I consider that they gave Blops the same score as this near masterpiece. I have yet to encounter any bugs detrimental to gameplay and I'm sure they will be patched and if done, will the game then be a 10? Because that was their only complaint that somehow bumped it down a whole point. Seems like most of the time they take off points for a.) bugs or b.) graphics and that's it. No surprises here if GS gives HCE anniversary a higher score. They need to stop riding FPS's so hard.whats the point in these threads? i can obviously see the review its on the home page....

We pre ordered it wednesday with the thought of picking it up next wednesday when we got paid. Well today 11-11-11 we couldn't wait and took up about 6 games to trade in on it to get it today. My wife has been playing it for about 6 hours and I can't see any of the problems (on the 360) it is said to have. While 9.0 is nothing to sneeze at this game deserves a higher score. Maybe the skyrim saturation and head beatings we have been getting leading up to the release has affected their score it does seem 9.0 is GS's new 10 rating.

Halo Combat Evolved is an awesome game. And with improvements, I don't think it makes sense to go down in score.
But anyways, your point is proved invalid with recent reviews of theirs. Skyrim, Dark Souls, Batman Arkham City, and I think Uncharted 3 all did better than BF3 and MW3, the 2 biggest shooters of the year.
Honestly, I thought it would be higher. I was expecting a 9.5 at minimum, since Oblivion got a 9.6/10...
My thoughts: Reviews are opinions. Too many people complain when someone else doesn't think the game is as good as they think it is.
