ight, i love it here, and its so interesting to read the reviews that the guys here give. There have been many games (DW6, Frontlines) that haven't been reviewed yet

I know its only been a while, but they are usually on the ball with this stuff
I also know they have had a hard time with staff, but why arent they reviewing games as frequently as they used to?

just wondering

thanks

They may not have been given early versions of the game to review. Some times they will get a version mabye a week before the release which helps get the review at either the time of release or close too. Of course since they had the mishap with the Lost Odyssey early copy (which i heard they had or something) they may be taking more precautions so that doesn't happen again. That may equal longer times until reviews come out.

And that's a good thing. They should take their times. I would have if the reviewer rushed through everything and gave everyone false reasoning why so and so game might shouldn't be touched. They should take as long as they need to perfect their reviews. Believe it or not, a lot of people base the games they play on reviews. I know, how silly is that!

ign
gametrailers

those are 2 good sites that give good reviews, and they have them out the day of release ...even before on really hyped games

Isn't it obvious? They're faster. Some people excel at different things. It's called being different. If you have a problem, why not discuss over with someone who can help? Maybe someone who works for GameSpot. None of this nonsense in the forums will do anything but eventually lead to flaming.

They've just been a little behind lately.

They still haven't reviewed the LOST game either.

I'm all down for taking your time to review a game, but lately the reviews themselves have been less than stellar, to say the least.

Go to the PC page here on Gamespot. You'll see a HUGE Frontlines advertisement. They don't want to post a less than AAA review for a game they have advertisements for. Once you don't see anymore ads, you see the Frontlines review.

Maybe they should take more time then.

That is a very naive thing to say, the truth of the matter is gamespot has been losing staff left and right, just another one left the other day to work at IGN as chief editor for the PC deparment (Jason Ocampo). Others who left include Ryan Davis who left shortly afer JeffGerstram was fired.

Check out this story for more details: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/29/jason-ocampo-leaves-gamespot-for-ign/

Gamespot is really lacking man power and passion these days as far as news/reviews go and the only reason I keep coming back to this site is for the forums/community and not the poor quality of writing on the site's main pages.

Do you believe everything you read on the Internet? Just curious.

Anyways, if you really feel like this is a subject worth discussing, feel free to send me a message. This isn't the place to discuss this.

Do you not understand? They have been taking their time (or some might call it slacking) and the reviews that are being put out are still lukewarm.

A lot of you seem to be angry at the fact they are slacking when you even admit that you find them to be not so good. Why bother mentioning anything else if you do not enjoy their reviews?
