I looked in five stores! Why would you? Well I would think you would have wanted to pay the price of a used game for a used game. But if you want to pay the price of a new game for a used game, that's on you. Maybe it's just me, but if I pay for something that supposed to be new, I would like it to be new. Also, I dont even see why you made this thread if it doesn't matter to you. You had a few exclamation points in your first post that made me think that you may have been mad, upset, or dissatisfied. I guess not. I always see that game in stores. It You must live very far from any major city. Is there not a Gamestop/EB games by you? Target? Best Buy? I see that title all of those stores
well see EB/Gamestop wouldnt rip you off by telling you its new when its not, but they still rip you off on trade in value and on used prices. That store probably just re-shrink wrapped it to make it look new. i would go back and either get the money back for the difference of a used one or just give them a piece of my mind.CardiacKid07EB sold me mass effect used claiming it was new. I called them then went back in, they didn't question me, check my receipt and didn't even check the disc. They just handed me a new one and I gave back the old.

Id watch what you say because my brother bought a game from them "new" (it was a ds game) and when he started to play it there was already a save file on it.

yes, gamestop does rip people off. their used new released games are $55 while new games are $60. i just think that is a rip off right there. lol at the wii for used for $250. they rip people off.iam2greenGameStop sells them for $55 dollars because: 1.People buy them 2. If you have a GameStop discount card it takes 10% off They might run their business sketchy but they make a lot of money off of it, even when people complain.
If consumers are ripped off by retailers than its the majority of the consumers fault (except for the case where the retailer flat out lied). Referring to the article about the wii, if Gamestop wants to sell a wii for 250 let them, especially if people are willing to buy.
Let me explain.
If the guy thought it was a rip off why did he purchase it? Obviously by purchasing the wii, the customer showed that he wanted the product and valued a used wii at $250. If he didn't value it at that price then he would not have purchased it. Thus because he did purchase it, it contridicts his thought of believing it was a rip off. If he truly believed he was getting ripped off then he would not have purchased the wii.
*sigh* I hate it when people are not educated consumers. I infact saved my parents $50 a month on thier cable bill because they had a package with extra channels that they and myself do not watch....

They actually do that. You know the last copy situation? They still claim it's new even though sometimes they use the disc in store on the 360's. I consider something new when the original seal isn't broken yet.

Yeah that's happened to me as well. They sell you the games that their employees have rented out but they foolishly forget to erase the saves that they've made.

I see that title all of those stores I'm with you. If I pay full price for a game, then I expect it to be new. I have nothing against used games, but if I buy a used game, I'm not paying full price for it. If I were you, I'd get my money back and tell that store to kiss my ass.
[QUOTE="bulletsword"]that sucks. i got DOA4 off of Amazon, but i had no choice but to get the ugly Platinum Hits box. oh, well. GS/EB only seem to rip you off when it comes to trade-in values. i've preordered, reserved, and bought games both used and new there and i've never had a problem.CardiacKid07
Yea microsoft needs to change the ugly Platinum Hits cases why cant they just leave them alone
Seriously! I hate that. They're so ugly. I just go and buy a used copy of a platinum game in its original case. :) Why do they have to change the cases at all? That other console company does that, too. Its rediculous.
Anyway, video game stores rip people off. Period. There is a place at the flea market in my town that sells PS2 and Xbox games for $30. That's INSANE if you ask me. He seems to do well, though. All them clueless grannies just want to buy something for their grandbabies; completely oblivious to the price gouging..... It sucks. If you're fine with it and are enjoying the game, though, I'd just leave it alone and play my lil heart out. :)
