i am thinking of getting a gaming headset i want to know if they are worth it. i am looking at the turtle beach x1, turtle beach x3, and the tritton ax360.

I have the turtle beach x1 and i love it. I highly recommened it to anyone. Very comfortable and great sound quality. And for $50 its a great deal so i think you should definetly buy them

You'd be better getting a decent set of open-back headphones (I use Sennheiser HD555's), and just wear a normal wired mike around your neck (with speech set to come out of the speakers). Most of the gaming headsets I've looked at and tried are overpriced and don't offer either good sound quality or effective communication.

you plug the normal xbox live mic into the controller, then you plug the sennhieser into the audo cables or something like from the tv?
