As I get older I find that I'm getting into other (more active) hobbies and have started to lose interest in gaming. I've continued to buy new games the past few months, but find that I rarely even get halfway through them. I just traded in my old xbox360 towards the new xbox360 S. Even with the new purchase, I find that video just don't hold my attention like they once did. I guess I credit this fact to me maturing, growing (34 years old) and developing other interests that get me out of the house. I've been gaming since I was 10 years old, but feel in my gut that it's time to move on.

My question for my fellow gamers on this board is- what's the best way to sell my xbox360 S. What would be a fair price to ask for it? Should bundle my existing games with the system or shall I sell the separately? I opened the box but only used the console for a grand total for 2 hours. Any useful advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Sell or Trade-in to Gamestop. They offer the best prices for games and gaming consoles. I believe that is the best thing for you. You can also list all the games you have, and maybe I will buy them (if they have a box, a manual, and the CD is in, or almost is in, Mint Condition (No scratches to limited scratches). Price will be $15 less the lowest Market Price on Gamestop, Futureshop, Best Buy, or EB games, in Canadian Stores. So say you want to sell Gears of War, which is $39.99 in the Market, I will buy it for $24.99. (This was an Example, I am not buying Gears of War since I have it, and that was not the Market Price).

Don't know how much you can sell it for depends on how many new games you have with it. Yes bundle your games with it. Put it up on craigslist and see how much people will offer you for it.

Whatever you do, don't sell your collection to gamestop. That is the only surefire way to get ripped off. Sell directly to individuals or just keep your collection.

You'll get a lot more by posting on craigslist or ebay than you ever will be trading into a retailer. See what other people are selling for and put it in that ballpark range.

i've been through this stage, gaming just wasnt doing it for me anymore, but the good news is..... it changes im luving games more than ever now, just because at this stage in your life, gaming isnt really clicking with you at the moment doesnt mean it wont be again in the future, just pack your xbox away (dont sell it) and get out and enjoy all these other things in life, and the gaming bug will bite you again down the road.

I'm 23 and feel the same way. I don't game nearly as much as I used to in college. But you know what, it still is fun to game for a couple hours once in awhile. But I even though when I do it, I can't play long and I lose interest. But I still like to do it when I can. I think you should continue to game on. If you are strapped for cash, then sell your stuff. If not, keep it. I don't recommend buying games. Just rent a game or two here and there that interest you

DO NOT under any circumstances sell your 360s or you games. You are just going through a period right now where other things have your interest. It happens to all of us. What you need to do like one poster said is just put you gaming gear away for a while. Trust me once its November and it starts getting cold, rainey/snowy and games like Halo Reach, CoD Black Ops and others start hitting, you'll be loving gaming again.

I will say though that I am also an "older" gamer and I to have found that my gaming tastes have become very, very selective. I am average at best playing FPS's, but I love them. Yearly iterations of Madden/NCAA football always eat up time for me and games like RE 5, Borderlands and such will amuse me. But anymore, I just dont go buy everything that comes out or that gets high scores!

i think overall gaming has been pretty stale this gen. they just copy games from the previous gen and touch them up with pretty graphics, and sometimes they take a step back in gameplay and dumb it down for example, splinter cell conviction and final fantasy 13. the only games that i feel that took a step forward was heavy rain, mgs4, and mw2.

Don't sell your console! You only end up on the losing end of this. I don't game as much as I used to (probably spend more time talking about games then actually playing) but on a rainy day when your home you might wanna play.

I personally wouldn't sell anything, but that's his choice. I don't think losing interest in gaming has anything to do with "maturity" though. My dad's over 50 and started out with Dungeons and Dragons as a kid before moving up to war strategy games on the PC, and he's still gaming strong. I know I'll probably play my whole life too, it's just who I am, even if I do get into a "gaming slump."

Sell it on Ebay, i would start the bidding at 1 penny so that more people will watch the item seeing it is a penny. Dont bundle the games, sell them seperately you will get more money that way. 34 and gaming aye? I can see myself there 10 years from now as well.

+1

The same thing happened to me 2 years ago (I'm 23 now, almost 24) but I'm playing a lot now.

I stopped playing my 360 after AA was released, which I really enjoyed, and I went back to my 360 with the release of Arkham Assylum, my personal GOTY for 2009.

Now I cannot wait for AA2 and the new mortal kombat, even though the last MK I played was mortal kombat ultimate on the genesis.

Sell it on amazon. I sold an old model 360 like a year ago bundled with like 10 old games for 300 bucks.

I personally wouldn't sell it though. I have active, physical hobbies, and I still find my 360 really enjoyable. I've had slumps for months on end before, but they passed, and I was glad I kept my console.

TC, my dad is 43 years old and he still loves gaming! We sometimes play Mario, or maybe Halo 3 online (just for the lol's) here and there. Heck, even my 42 year old Mom still plays games here and there. We go outside, shoot guns at the shooting range, or even do other things out of the house, but we still love to play Video games. So TC, It's not age that matters, It's how your life goes. I know Im 16 and I shouldn't have said that, but Im for sure It's how your life goes. My dad works 12 hours a day at Coke and he still love to play Video games when he gets home, same with my Mom. My 2 older brothers works at a Prison for 9 hours a day, and they're at there 20's, and they have tough stuff to do there, but they still love gaming no matter what. It's all about life TC. Heck people, my Grandparents still loves Video games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe not all the time, but they still love it.

Keep it around, just because you don't game hardcore doesn't mean every once in a while it's not fun to pick it up and play a multiplayer match or two.

Yeah. Unless you really need the money , I say keep it. Use your LIVE account for netflix or something. Take a break for a few months, or a year. You may want to come back when the weather is bad, or you break your ankle parkouring. :P

I'm 30 and feel this gen has gotten stale. Still why did you think getting a 360 S would revive your interest in gaming? It's the exact same console.

Anyway, my advice is to use ebay. But if I were you, I'd hold on to the console. There may be games down the road that will pique your interest. Right now, I'm still having fun playing select games (SMG2, RDR, FF13). Of course, I don't have much time, working as a physician (ironically I have all the money I need to game), juggling a family, etc. But I'll still sit down and enjoy a bit of RDR or SMG 2. Nobody's telling you you have to play every single game out there. There are many games I want to play but just don't have time (Alan Wake, Halo, Forza, MW2, Yakuza 3, many Wii, games and other RPGs). The key is to just pick one or two games and stick to it until the end. When I started making money, I felt like I had to pick up every AA and above game just because I could. Well, I quickly found that I could never really get involved in the game. So now, I just pick one or two games that look interesting and focus on 1) beating it, and 2) if it has MP, to play the heck out of it until I get bored. It's kept me in gaming and I don't see myself quitting any time soon.

I hope this was a joke. There is no more sure way to get taken to the cleaners than to sell your stuff to Gamestop. I'm feeling you though TC. This has been an awful generation for the older than 18 year old gamer, and the trend is continuing to go downhill. I am not going to get rid of my stuff, but I rarely buy anything new anymore. The companies are for the most part exploiting a customer base too naive to demand more than dog crap in a green box. New fees and charges are being thrown in everywhere you look to play your games. Slowly all fun is being sapped out of video games and instead of looking at what they are being given the consumers shout "DID YOU SEE WHAT WAS AT E3???". There are a lot more fun and productive hobbies over video gaming in this generation. Ebay your newest stuff while it is still worth something and down the road if you want to pick another one up you can buy it back for next to nothing and not take a real hit.
