AFC is the DLC with the Deleted Scene right? If so, yes I have the AFC?
No. That is the Dark Corners Map Pack. The AFC is everything, Flashback, Combustible, Dark Corners, Snowblind, Deleted Scene, everything, for 800 Microsoft points. I have everything, but I do not have the AFC itself downloaded.

that doesn't matter you will still get the update. Not having all the map packs only keeps you from being able to play social games but you can still play ranked.

I'm getting it on and off. I got it on a game I did terribly on which net me 17000 XP, but when I should have gotten 75000 XP I just got the normal 4000. Annoying.
Alright, I only have the flashback map pack. If I do public ranked gamescanI earn the xp?

Yes. It works for me too now. Does anyone want to play Horde or anything else with me? Just add me and message me. I have very few people on my friends list that are on right now, and even less playing Gears of War 2. And it is hard to get in a ranked match.

Pardon the dumb question, but what's the event in question? There's something going on right now that gives 20x xp? If anyone has a link to details could you provide it? I may just have to play some Gears tonight.

Sorry might have posted this in the wrong thread, this one seems more appropriate so here it is copied in: I am not entirely convinced it is 20 x XP unless I am very much mistaken. I was under the assumption that on Horde if you played Casual you would normally receive 200 xp at the moment I am getting 2000 xp per wave which in my mind is 10 x. I have done a level on insance as well and I am getting 5000 per wave which means normally you only get 250 xp for each wave of Horde which I KNOW is not right. Don't get me wrong 5000 or indeed 2000 per round is still fantastic, but it isn't the 20 x I was hoping for.... Unless someone can set me straight?!

It's 20x compared to the original exp. and not the new normal 2x. Originally casual was 100 xp.
So from what I realized, you get the 20 times exp (which is actually 10 times), if you see only the big dudes in Horde mode. I did not try the other modes yet though, so no info on those. Best bet is to keep restarting matches until you get the big dudes only on the first wave. Also, the starting wave will only have 3 enemies as a tell tale sign if you are getting the bonus exp.

the orginal amount of xp was 100 but then they changed it from that to permenant double xp awhile back.

Simply put yes. Casual was 100 and insane was 250 when the game first shipped. Over time they doubled that to now be the norm. Every xp event they have held has been muliplied by the original xp and not the since changed double xp. Kinda stupid but that's how they do it.
