i used to love Gears 2, but honestly the patch they just released that was supposed to fix all our problems with the game didnt fix crap. it still the laggiest game i ever played. in fact its utterly unplayable at this point. so let me just say this. Cliffy B. is a douche. How can you release a game with this many problems. i cant even grasp what they were thinking. well it looks like ill be heading back to Halo & COD since, well ya know, they are games that you can actually play without jumping across the map

If I get at least 500 people, I will contact epic, and then I will get the whole GOW 2 epic forum to change this. This isn't always the case, but most of the time it's not the game, it's the network. If I bypass my Vonage router and plug directly into my cable modem there is a huge difference with my CoD4, WaW, and Halo3 multiplayer performance for example. The multiplayer lag (or lack there of) in Gears2 doesn't kill the game as a whole either. Does cutting the heart out of a giant worm get dull the 3rd or 4th time through? Yeah, but so does beating the Pyrolaster in FFXII. Wait... no it doesn't.

if your gamertage is MindFreeze as well then you really cant talk with a 0.55 K/D ratio. cause if u dont lag whats your excuse? haha americans dont get lag that often because 95% of the time someone in that country gets host, for us internationals (australia for me) anything other than an aussie host means 1 second bullet lag

Ha what a joke. This game sucked and was a HUGE let down. With no dedicated servers I wouldn't even try online play. Lag fest with shotguns....wow what a game.

I can never seem to be able to win using the shotgun either. Everyone uses it all the time, I'm more of a chainsaw fiend.

And this is me talking with a 20mbps down and 2mbps up. Even one of my friends with FIOS lags like crazy ONLY in Gears of War 2. I virtually don't lag at all in any other games....ONLY GEARS 2.
The lag sucks, and I totally freaking called it before GearsII even launched. I was saying that the shotgunners would learn to adapt, and they have. That's all anybody uses anymore.
I honestly don't play this game online too much. I'll be playing for the next 13 days, though. Hehe.
But, another huge problem this game has is little babies that like to quit before the game even starts. That just starts a domino effect, and then you're left by yourself. This happens too often.
If one person leaves in the game, you're at a severe disadvantage. Well, if the other team is any good. Maybe you'll get lucky and play someone new.:D
From everything that I have read and heard, the lag is a function of no servers with no region filters...this results in some dude in Australia hosting a game with a bunch of people from the US and Europe! Of course their is going to be lag! Epic will not do region filters because they do not want to alienate anyone (ie: Australians, Asians...etc.). I have managed to keep my K/D ratio around 1.5 to one on average even with getting in some nearly unplayable rooms. If you hate the lag play Private with friends and bots, it is a blast and the leveling system sucks anyway, IMO.

They shouldn't have released the game in such a state, I mean it was the 360's biggest game of last year. But I never really play it online and the campaign is a lot of fun.
LOL you guys analyze your games too much, I played for 4-5 hours yesterday with a bunch of friends, we had a blast, never ran into any of your glitches that you managed to dig up. I play games for fun not to try to find every flaw.

The game is not garbage but the online play is laggy most of the time. Unreal Tournament 3 has dedicated servers and no one plays it. What the hell were they thinking? Hopefully they can get dedicated servers but I doubt it. I still play it because when there is no lag this game it the BEST game to play online.

I liked the single player but the multiplayer was just making me very pissed off so I got rid of it. No sense in having a game that makes you upset everytime you play it.
the last patch was never billed as solving all the problems in game its largly glitch fixer and as fr lag they are working on it if you actually look into it rather than posting yet another gears 2 lag thread
