Gears 2 or L4D?

So I'm recently gotten a 360 and want to add to my collection. I currently have COD4, COD: World at War, Fight Night, and Halo 3. I am looking into picking up either Left 4 Dead or Gears of War 2 and am torn between the two. I had L4D for the PC and absolutely loved it. I also had the original Gears for the PC and thought it was ok too. I'm really looking into sticking with just 360 gaming and am phasing out PC gaming, so I'm willing to pick up L4D again if its worth it. I would think its a no-braner with Gears because I hear such great things and it has both a solid single and multiplayer, but I thought L4D was just plain awesome.

Any takers?

I've gotten a lot more play time out of L4D. Gears 2 was awesome, but I didn't find the multiplayer to be very good. Horde was okay, but I found it to be a cheap version of survival in L4D. I would go with L4D.hillelslovak

I am no fan of GOW1 or 2..I hate the camera angles and I hate shooting someone 100x only to be killed by a nice "HALOISH" punch..not my cup of tea. L4D is fun..carefree, zombie killing and its fun splitscreen..

definitely Gears of War 2. L4D is fun, but Gears has both great single player AND multiplayer content. Plus, L4Ds online community is pretty low on people, and those who still play are either so skilled that they will whoop you around like crazy, or are jerks who exploit and do stupid crap (like team kill and such)

you will get allot more out of gears of war 2 then l4d. i say wait for l4d 2

Left 4 dead 2 is coming out in November so get Gears 2.

if you liked the multiplayer in gears 1 then dont get gears 2, youll be dissapointed in the direction that game is headed. like if you want a fast paced game then go for L4D or gears 1, gears of war 2 got the pacing taken out of it and IMO it just doesnt fit well, but thats just me, i like fast paced games.

Personally I'd go with Gears 2. Longer campaign with an actual story and a much better soundtrack. Theres alot more variety to the competitive multiplayer(especially since it's not just a replica of the campaign) although it's pretty tough to get good at. And theres the horde mode. It's like survival mode but you can actually last longer than three minutes and you can have a five person team.

But you said you thought Gears 1 was simply okay. Gears 2 is more of the same with tons of gravy on top(and plenty of subtle but game changing tweaks). If you don't like the sound of that, don't get it.

I'd say get gears 2 and wait for L4D2.

Gears 1 = Greates 360 game ever.

Gears 2 = Biggest Flop of 08'

L4D = Absolute Fun!!

So yeah, I reccomend L4D. Gears 2 is just horrible lol.

Not really what I was thinking, he liked the first Gears of War and already played L4D so he might as well get Gears of War 2 and wait for L4D2.

Lol, thats what I was thinking.

L4D is an amazing game, but to say Gears is a "cheap" version of anything in L4D is just insane. The character models are more indepth in Gears, more weapons, more maps, different ways to kill youre enemies, a bigger verity of enemies, and a cover system. As I said, L4D is an AMAZING game, but its not a "cheap" version of anything.
