Everything that refuses to censor their blood into green gets banned in germany, even their Wolfenstein had green blood in it. I'd point out what the irony is with this being Germany, but I think it's fairly obvious.
Germany is one of the most radical countries in the world now. The very thought of a violent videogame being played in a country that used to deliver so much violence is beyond them.
I believe all of Europe is Region 2, so Germans can probably order the game from Amzon.co.uk and have it shipped to their house. ;)
i live in germany and all i can say it doesnt have to be extremly bloody to get banned here gears 1 got banned along with crackdown and dead rising but luckely i got all those games. its not that they are illegal its just retailers arent allowed to advertise the game or keep them on shelves but if you aks at the counter for those games you can buy em if you are 18 still sucks though cuz alot of stores dont sell them because no one asks for them because no body knows about those games

I find it kind of funny that it was banned in Germany... But it wont be banned in North America so its all good.
I read that yahoo.com article about it, and they just described the new chainsaw attack, which isn't much more violent than the original, and holding an almost dead enemy as a shield. It's nothing we haven't really seen before. I don't get it. =/

i hope you know that the germans changed a lot everything that has to do anyting with the past is pretty much forbidden. except for like games where you are americans and kill nazis :lol: . oh btw gta 4 was the same in germany as in other countries :D
im from germany and the games here are really stupid...we also dont get ninja gaiden 2 or maybe we get a cut/censored version (the sucking monkey balls version) we cant even download gears 2 trailers from the us marketplace!!!!!!how stupid is that??? we just get games like viva pinata..ok we have gta4 uncut and im really happy about that..but saints row was cut version also all the other gta games + condemned 1 and 2,the darkness (you cant eat your opponents heart..you eat some lightning balls) and more.... the ppl here call this games killer games and all kids who play this game ll kill their parents and teachers...

taking from the game footage released last week or something, the chainsaw looks revamped, lots of blood, and sneaking up behind locust to drive the chainsaw bayonet through their back will be insane. i feel bad for germans. America rules
It may be this moment right now that makes me even prouder to be an American.
German's should just spread the word about banned games that should turn out good and get it from another country, it's not like they live in America where if you want something from a differant country that's not on this side of the world you have to spend money on an expensive plane trip across an ocean, just drive there, or even walk if you live near the border.

Gears 2 isn't banned yet. Gears 1 was banned in Germany, and with recent controversy with using "meatshields", gamepolitics (which inspired this I presume?) reported on the previous ban. Gears 2 hasn't been banned yet - though I'm sure it will be.

Was Turning Point banned? It sucked and was about Nazi's winning WWII, but it wasn't bloody, just showed Nazi symbols in America
As long as i can shove my chainsaw bayonet up some locust a$$ it will give me something to think about other than the steaming turds of society like insane gas prices or eating healthy.:shock:
plus its not like its gonna effect kids bc its a sci fi story. this isnt gta where it can "influence kids" to be violent. if a kid wants to do something in gears, good luck finding an assault rifle with a chainsaw bayonet.

I don't see how GTA IV (or any game) is supposed to influance kids. Every shooting or suicde shooting gets balamed on games just cause people need a scapegoat to get on with their lives. Maybe it's no one reason, ever thought of that? Still i have played all 3-D GTA games and still don't quite feel like landing a hellicopter in the middle of the street then comeing out with an RPG and ... well you get the idea.
