Gears of War 1 or Halo 3 which is better?

I think they are both good in different ways Halo3 is very good online because it has high replay value and a ranking system, but I didn't like its campaign, it gets boring after you have beat it twice. Gears of War has a excellent campaign that I could play over and over again, but its online isn't that good it gets boring after a while. This is just what I think tell which one you think is better.

well they´re both great games i play´em both still and hey get them and play them

gow is more tactical of course while halo is full of action and fun

You've just fundamentally explained why the two games are hard to compare. Their combined singleplayer and multiplayer experiences are just about equal. In my opinion, though, Halo 3 is a better game overall. Gears of War has a great and memorable campaign, but it too gets boring and repetitive, just like its multiplayer. The second one will be much better, and it may pass Halo 3 because of all it's great new features. However I believe Halo 3 is currently better because it has so much more replay value, especially with the new ranking system, achievements, and maps coming out.

anyways, I like halo 3 for the multitude of weapons available, so I play it more often with others, but gow has had some of my best gaming moment ever (curb stomps and chainsawing someone are sweet)
