A friend of mine told me about a rumor he heard about that Maria Santiago (Dom's wife) is the Locust queen. Can any1 confirm this? Also I've been thinking about something from the "Duel" trailer. At the beginning Dom says " If something happens to me, promise me you'll find Maria" I think that when the devs put this out, they opened the possibility of Dom dying during Gears 2. What do you think of this?

No one can say for sure at this point... Although they have promiced a better story this time around. And main characters dying is not a new thing. Aeris and Rikimaru from the top of my head.

I think the Lotus Queen should be Paris Hilton... that would be a twist and a half....

What I mean is that I think it would be pretty corny if Dom's wife turned out to be the Locust Queen. You'd think Dom would sense that there is something fishy about his wife (That is if she IS the Locust Queen) before this catastrophic event occurred.

I know this may sound absurd, but I'll have to believe this. If read some of the back story to Gears, you know that Maria disappeared on E-day. And since Dom said "if something happens to me, promise me you'll find Maria", that means that Dom is sensing that there is trouble surrounding here. And since I heard somewhere that an EPIC developer revealed that one of the Gears characters would die, since it would most likely be Dom, it'll all be linked together and make perfect sense. And after all, the Locust queen sounds like a human, and nothing like a Locust.

I think that if all of us wait for the game, we wouldn't have to wonder. Hopefully a twist that isn't evident in the commercial will be shown. The best kind of prize is a surprise!!!

i'm just excited to continue the story. they need to have some sort of twist to it. i personally think that the locust have to be some response to human activity. Mean possibly that they were once human, maybe? I dunno how to explain it. I mean, the game quite obviously is a social commentary.

I'm not going to guess. I just hope that GOW2 will be more story driven and longer than the first. I know I'm not the only one that wants answers.

i'm sorry, but if you think maria is the locust queen you gotta be delusional. that would be the worst plot twist i've ever seen or heard of, and no one at EPIC is stupid enough to include it in a game.
