Best thing to do is to wait until you come of age, then you can do what you like.Stop lying and obey your mother.Why?.............because she pushed you out,fed you, cleaned your a$$.Your mother deserves respect because she must be doing what she thinks is best for you and I am sure that you are to young to buy this game, hence you shouldn't be playing it.

hiding the game above the closet door frame on the inside, depending on your house, you can find good spots under floorboards...also depending on how long you plan to live their you can customize your own spots by opening vents and whatnot...otherwise stand up to your mother and don't take her crap. before i left home we got along because i didnt let her walk all over me like the fascist she was.  be creative

respect is earned, although the fact that she gives a crap about his game shows something...but not much, maybe she is crazy and thinks videogames are evil, i couldnt respect that kind of thinking, maybe its a catch 22, i dont know im not her son.

Were not talking about the streets here, were talking about his mother! That isn't the type of advise you give to a thirteen year old.Maybe respect means something different where you are from. But if he is happy with your advise then that figures. This is a games forum after all!

Snoopy moms will find anything, you gotta think faster then them, the moment their onto you, find a better hiding place. Common places she wouldn't look are always great. and remember most parents are generally technologically impared. So if you have a dvd case that holds more than one disk, stick it in there and keep the box at school. If you have vents, theres always good too. Hiding it's not the problem, her waking up to chainsaws is, keep the volume low. Then theres always convincing her that you can get the game on your own, (meaning no money outta her pocket) and that the gore can be turned off. Just tell her it's cartoonish then.

I don't think your mom would continue to let you play GOW till your much older(guessing by what you said about her). But you might be able to convince her about Halo 3, and possibly other games.

I'd try talking to her about why she doesn't want you to play those types of games, and see if you can get her to read the reviews for the game ( content wise) and maybe even watch a few vids of the gameplay.

If you act like a mature person and calmy explain to her why you want to play these game, and explain that you know its not real, and won't try to do some of the things in it, you just probably defused her distrust of those types of games.

IMO, most parents are afraid that you would try to act out some of the things you see and hear in the game. Most of which could be harmful to you or others. So thats why a lot of them don't want their kids to play them until their children understand its not something you'd say/do in real life.

Some are stricter in that because they want you to not be exposed to those things at an early age( impressionable).

One other thing I'd mention is either not get caught playing GOW because you probably would get the game, and possibly the 360 taken away from you. Mainly because you broke your parents trust in you to obey them.  Ruining your chance to get games like that till much, much later.

No problem. The way I explained was how I managed to get some of my early games. Afterwards after my parents saw that I was keeping my end of the bargain, they stopped checking in on me, and looking at my game collection.

Just remember though to not whine if they still say no, your acting years ahead of your age to gain their trust. Believe me, it shows when you act mature.

If you ask me this kid is a little weird, who cares what games your mother lets you play, no one gives a crap, and don't act like you care what she thinks either because you went out and got the game and are currently playing it

You dont really need to go to great lengths to hide a firggin game! Yeah, ok, start looking for loose floorboard if u got a half ounce of coke, but this is a game!!!!! Stick it under ur bed or hide the box, put a blank CD in the box shiney side up and put the GeOW game into another box. If ur mum finds the GeOW box, she opens it, sees a nice shiney CD, tell u off but u still got the game. Im all up for younger people playing older game, but its when they start screaming down the mic online which REALLY annoys me!!! I dont mind if they talk, only when its that high pitched whiney scream.

1.secretly buy the game
2.If your mom is really strict like you say, throw the box away! or bury it or tell your friend to keep the box for a while(the gears of war box)
3.put something soft (toilet paper or nothing) around the cd and place it inside the pages of the book of one of your  old  xbox 360 kiddy games.
4.play it when you know for sure she is gone.

parents dont check the books of inside your xbox games(especially if its like sponge bob or something)...not even regular gamers sometimes dont check the book

Its true what they say about obeying your mother but sometimes you gotta  make your way around them if you really wanna do what YOU want to do....for all we know you could play GOW and be inspired to become a video game artist or something and make that your career and work on GOW 4.....you never know.

Is it worth hiding the game if she finds it? Only you know your mum and how she'll react but hiding something from your parents is a sure fire way to get in their bad books. I remember when my mum found my green when i was a lot younger, she isn't even that strict but I got in some serious sh*t. What I'm saying is make sure the punishment for having the game is worth the risk.

Hey I look at it as Good parenting on her part, most parents now days won't even look or even give a crap what their kids play. But then if their kids go and do something stupid the parents blame the game for their kids behavior not their lack of paying attention to their kid in the first place. I've seen too many times kids about your age or younger with their moms in the electronics section looking at games and the kid goes "That's it! That's the game I want!" and the game could be called 'Murder, Death, Kill!!!' with an M rating and a sticker half the size of the box saying "Not intended for minors." and yet the parent will disregard or heck NOT even read the labels at all and go "Ok get it, let's go." But then if their kid goes out and commits some type of violent act or starts some type of behavior that's not acceptable, then when the kid is in the news, what do they do? "It's those violent video games he played I don't know where or how he got them." When it was them that got the ****** games for their kid. Look, they put ratings on things for a reason...if it says 17+ and your 12, 13,14 etc... well then you're underage and shouldn't be playing it regardless whether or not your mom is the one telling you not to play it.

No, you are right, absolutely right.  This kid has made a couple threads over the past few days asking people how to hide this game from his parents.  Yesterday he was 14 though...today he's 13...I'm guessing actual age is around 11-12.  And TBH kid, you're 12!  Listen to your parents.  Is it really worth playing the game and always looking over your shoulder?  I used to think like you, thought all my hiding places were the best.  In my case it was porn when I was 10.  You know what?  Each and every one of my magazines...found.  Mom's aren't retarded.  They were kids once too, sometimes you seem to forget that.  Chances are they've used all the hiding places you could think of.  And god forbid your mom fakes you out one friday night, you retire to your TV to play gears when you think shes asleep, about an hour into your game you feel a light tap on your shoulder and BAAM, there goes your 360.

Come on kid, listen to your parents.  If you ever want them to respect you, you start by respecting them.  It's just a game.

This is exactly what I think. As a father, I totally agree with you, Davanius. And to the topic creator, respect your parents. Respect and communication are worth way more than Gears of War or any other game!

Is it worth it to lose your 360 because you want to play a game you shouldn't be playing in the first place?  Uh, NO!  Common kid, your mom cares about you enough to pay attention to what you're playing which is more than a lot of parents these days.  I know it sucks to wait to play some of these games, but I don't think it's worth losing your 360 over.  There are plenty of games you can play until you are old enough.  And besides, you may be able to hide the disc, but if your mom's clever enough, all she has to do is fire up your Xbox, log into your profile and see what you've been playing.  You can password protect your profile, but you mom will know something's up then.  Do what you will, but if your mom wants to find out what you're playing, she will!  Just hold off a bit, respect your mom's wishes and you'll have plenty of time from age 18 on to play violent games.

I know this is going to be in one ear and out the other, but here goes anyways...

The real problem here is respect.  Kid, it sounds like your mom is trying her best to watch out for you.  That shows that she loves and respects you.  If you want to return that respect and love, then return the game to your friend.  The five or so years until you're eighteen may seem like an eternity, but you'll get there.  Listening to your parents and obeying the restrictions put on you says a lot about your character, so show some class and put down the controller.

Best thing to do is to wait until you come of age, then you can do what you like.Stop lying and obey your mother.Why?.............because she pushed you out,fed you, cleaned your a$$.Your mother deserves respect because she must be doing what she thinks is best for you and I am sure that you are to young to buy this game, hence you shouldn't be playing it.davanius

your such a nerd.lol....let the kid have his game. if he thinks he can handly the excesive gore and curing why not?

Get something worse and hide it in a poorer place. When she finds your weed she won't be so angry about Gears.

Spend more time working on your writing skills and less time gaming.  Once you can formulate a decent paragraph, game all you want.

This is a pretty amusing thread -- not very often I read through every single post instead of just skimming. Plus, if anyone ever needs to hide something away in their house, they've now got a few good ideas.  And if we're ever parents, we've got a heads up on where to start looking for the contraband.

Dont let her see the case, and put a fake disc label on it, that way she cant see that it is rated M something like that just change the skins, and maybe flip the label in the case or something

You're 13, if your mom doesn't think you're mature enough to play this game, respect that.  Besides, kids online suck

Just don't do it. If government finds out you are playing a game that you are not age of, either you or your parent(s), or both could get into some serious trouble. Do the right thing by keeping your parents happy, and obeying the law by staying out of trouble.

she said-"what is it rated"

i said- "M, there is some blood when you shoot the aliens..."

worked for me :) i dunno if you can pull it off

use headphones to block out the language, keep your door locked, elaborately change the m on the cover to a t and find a good hiding spot. this is considering you have live beacuse if u dont its not worth it cause gears isngleplayer kinda sucks after u beat it all...
