Gears of war 2 golden lancer

I've a question about this golden lancer in gears 2... When i not buy the limited edition:oops:, i heart you can still buy the golden lancer on marketplace. Is that true? Does someone knows some more bout this?

I don't know but I don't like it.

I don't like the idea of everyone running round with unrealistic and highlyvisiblegold lancers.

I thought you only get it if you buy the game like RIGHT when it's released at midnight launch. I don't know if it's a collector's edition only thing.Ghost_702

You pick the game up at midnight release and you will be given a code for it.

So many guys are getting this limited edition, don't know if i want it too becuase when i wouldd get it i'd only do it for the golden lancer. And 15 euro's is a lot of money for an golden lancer.

and when are you using the book and bonus dvd, I think once and then it starts to get dusty from laying in your room becuase of not doing anything with it...

I was assuming that the LE came with a code to download the golden lancer. I planned on just NOT redeeming the code. I also assumed that the midnight release people would be given that code even if they didn't purchse the LE.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm almost certain that:

Buying any edition at a midnight launch event and you get a code for a golden hammer burst.

Buying the LE from anywhere at anytime gets you a code for a golden lancer.

You don't have to redeem the codes, it's optional.

What I'd like to know is can you turn off/delete the golden guns once you've redeemed the codes.

Anyone know?

i just saw an ad for gamestop, its the midnight release gets the golden lancer.Fakenamelmao

you get the gold plated hammerburst if you go at midnight....the gold lancer is for LE only

you get the golden lancer from the LE only. the golden Hammerburt is given at midnight launch :D

k so heres it all summed up.

you go to the midnight launch you get the Golden Hammerburst too. if you buy LE you also get the golden Lancer.

btw i personally dont like the golden even though im buying LE, i saw it, its okay, i think ill use it to see how it looks.

but they added that you can turn it on and off, so if you dont want to use it, then just turn it off, that what im gonna do. it didnt look too bad in the ign video review. so whatever. at least i get the art book, cuz i love drawing =P

from seeing gameplay with the gold lancer it looks like total crap. whats the purpose of having it anyway since it will not give anything extra at all. I am glad I did not get the LE of Gears 2
