Gears of War 2 Has the WORST online experience available

This is horrible. I am trying really hard to enjoy it, but this is just sad.

1. The online community sucks. It seems like there is ALWAYS at least one person who quits throughout the game. There must be more definite penalties for quitting.

2. LAG. MS is too cheap to give us dedicated servers for the online service that WE pay for. Most PC games that have FREE online multiplayer have DEDICATED servers.

BOTH of these factors play into 90% of all games I have played.

i dont know why people are still bothering to post about gearss of wars 2 lag, EVERYONE knows already and if anyone ever did their research they'd find epic is set to have it improved in the next patch

I'm aware how many patches have bin released, they cant click their fingers and solve the problem just like that it takes time and you will just have to be patient till theyfigure out why the game is causing such heavy lag

and i have played recently and i know how severe it is sometimes but again just whining on gamespot forums isnt going to solve a thing as hundreds of topics the same as this have shown already, it might be more constructive to stick it in epics own forums where they can notice your problems

never liked gears competitve multiplayer, but co-op horde kicks a royal ammount of buttpaulokoenigkam

It seems to have gotten better thanks to some temporary fixes. As it stands they've posted on their forums that the main problem should be addressed with TU3. Not sure when that's due but the sooner the better. Also they're looking into two-piecing (beatdown shotgun combo) and trying to find a way to balance it out so people stop relying on it so heavily. I think the main problem is with the execution style games because if you do manage to take someone out from a distance with a lancer, hammershot, or what have you, chances are somebody will help your target up before you can get there to finish them off. That's why people go with the shotgun because nobody's getting up after a blast to the face.sLiPz1984

Also I agree with the smoke greandes. They should just make your character flinch for a few seconds or something, instead of sending a 300+ pound soldier flying 5-8 ft. LOL Not even the frag grenades do that for crying out loud!MrArmageddon8

If one goes off next to you though without killing your character it causes your character to flinch. If you put a smoke grenade in its place it sends your character flying.

Yea, Cliffy B himself stated if you 2 piece, your a noob, so now they're fixing it, :)

I hope you realize that they have released patches and the online play is a lot better involving lag, and host shotgun. And if you are really complaining about people quitting i bet you are on of thoose idiots and there is no way to prevent it.Skudd78

You are the exact reason I hate internet forums, you have no idea what you are talking about. I would say 35-40% of the online matches I play end up with uneven teams. The host advantage has been a problem since Gears 1. i have never experienced this much lag in any online Xbox game I have ever played. It is flat out trash and is broken. Quit running your mouth about something you have no idea about.

I dissagree, i enjoy Gears2 alot online. its better then gears1 in every way imo.

I love HOrde mode and King of the hill online.

I rarely lag in gears2, must be lucky. I find the COD games lag the most on xboxlive.
