Gears of war 2 is amazing, but SVR 2010 is pretty good (Though I don't have it), but I tried it at my friends house and It was fun. I'll get both, but since Im more into Fighting games then Shooting games (Though I love Shooting games), I'll go with SVR 2010.
Those WWF/E games... Ugh. I'll be honest in that I haven't played this years. But I have 2006, then tried out 2007, 2008, 2009. They were all EXACTLY the same thing. Okay, this guy went to this roster, that guy went there, but it was the same backround music, the same super annoying commentary, and the same animations. Just awful in my opinion. People who say that Madden is the same thing every year need to take a look at the Smackdown series. My opinion, Gears 2 hands down.
Gears of War. Incredible Third-Person Shooter. Multiplayer is pretty sweet too.

Agreed. At least Madden adds a few features each year. Smackdown vs Raw adds almost nothing but roster updates.
How do you compare these two games?! Either you want a wrestling game or a shooter. I guess it depends on what genre you like more, right nothing else you can say.
Here's what I'd do. If these are the 2 games you want for the next couple months, get both! Gears 2 is only $30 new, or is it $40? But you can get it used for $25. I bought Smackdown last year but the single player was short and I was done with the game fast. I think within a month you'll be able to get Smackdown for $40 on sale. You can wait until Black Friday or just look at the weekly ads of stores in your area. Best Buy is having Buy 2 Get 1 Free on games. If it were me, I'd get Gears at the best price I could. If you need help ask me, but you can get it new for $30 and used for $25. Smackdown is still new, but it's a game that'll go on sale. I would wait a month to get it while checking ads and you'll catch a good $40 deal on it.
Why are you comparing these 2 games? Pick whichever seems more interesting to you, Gears 2 is an amazing game, I dont know much about the wrestling game since i never played one...but again you cant really compare...
