It's 3rd person and uses a cover system so those are two big differences from Halo 3. I think it's a WAY better game though. Also, it's round based and when you die you wait for the round to end (except in ... this one mode I can't think of the name right now). It's only 4v4 at the most though so you usually don't have to wait too long even if you die really quick.
The multiplayer is harder then halo(which is funner)because you dont have a target icon when your running around. So alot of the time when ppl are using there shotguns, bullets fly everywhere. It is also fast gameplay.

haha .. so true. i wish they made friendly fire mandatory. my friend thinks hes so awesome with the boom shot. all he does is finds a bunch of cogs and locus' and fires
ok whoever said GOW is fast gameplay is absoloutely retarted, have you ever played halo, the last game i played in gears of war, there were these two noobs who would play cat and mouse and run around in circles trying to get some kind of advantage on each other until the clock had 20 secs to go and they spent 10 seconds killing each other, then one 'raped' the other and after that i quit.

Dude, of course it can be slow at times but Gears totally has fast gameplay. There is plenty of cover and stuff but it's still a game that is face paced. You talk about two NOOBS playing cat and mouse... key word was in big letters man. They don't know what they are doing! Everytime I play 90% of the time the gameplay is fast which is AWESOME!!! The other 10% is fine too because it's usually when it's one on 2 or 3.

maybe times have changed because when i used to play day and night, it was the other way around, 90% cover/stalking 10% action
