I would because it was said if you have played the first Gears then you will have playable charcters on Gears 2 that you wouldn't have had you not played the first one in career mode! So yes definite purchase!!
I really like gears but the only problem that gears has is if you play ranked people will quite just about everytime and also there are alot of glitches and I mean alot of glitches. But it is a fun game I'm just tired of quiters. so Yeah you should get the first one You'll have lots of fun just don't quite ranked matches.lol
I think you should get it so you will be able to know what GOW2 is even about and its worth it that way you will get the feel for it before just jumping into GOW2.

Agreed! Let's hope they have that fixed with Gears 2!!! Glitches can be frustrating but not to hard to live with when your having fun lol
