[QUOTE="GreasyFetus69"][QUOTE="Staryoshi87"] You cannot silence criticism. I happen to think Gears is a mediocre game, and I'll continue to say so. The real flamers the Gears-fanatics who can't accept that a) people have differing opinions and/or b) that Gears isn't the best thing since sliced bologna.

Well explain why u think it is mediocre, most people dont give a reason outside of oh the people online are jerks!, which is true, but not the games fault. Or oh chainsawing is cheap!, well not really just dont let them get close to u. Only problem is host advanage in player matches. Before the update, Ranked matches sucked. I'd get thrown into some rag-tag team against some team with practice, usually with half of my team quitting before the end of the match. The gameplay itself I find to be quite rudimentary. To me it's a glorified game of hide-n-seek where you shoot the steroid-addled enemy in the head until they're dead. I also disdain said juiced character models. Oh, and here's a question, why the heck do you have to semi-crouch to run, regardless of enemy fire? It seems smarter (and easier on the legs) to run standing upright. I didn't like the dark atmosphere (dark in the sense ofa lack of light). I felt that it tried to artificially create a mood that the story itself couldn't, and that it failed to make up for this deficiency. The story wasn't at all compelling to me. Also, and perhaps the most annoying aspect of the game is its short duration. Any time a game is developed with the intention of making a trilogy of three short games, that's lame. Instead of breaking the game into three segments, they should have made the effort to make one, full-length story. But then again, why do that when they can make 180-210 bucks off of consumers this way? The reliance on multiplayer (which at a measily 4 v 4 is pretty unenjoyable for me) is another of its shortcomings. Everyone seems to think this game is the best looking on the 360, but I say there is more to a game's graphical aspects than technical specifications. Also, it looked too shiny. Lost Planet is, in my opinion, the best looking 360 game out there.
I think Gears is an incomplete game that was intentionally made into 3 parts to make more $. Also, I don't like the community that it's spawned. It seems to me that many members of said community are elitest, unyielding, and unreasonable. Also, it consists of many younger types who shouldn't even have the game. Oh, and one more thing.... I thought that it included gore just for the sake of gore... not to add anything of real intrinsic value.
Those are some of the reasons I don't like it.. but that's all imo, so who cares? :) Also, I won't be entertaining any attempts to persuade me otherwise, nor will I try to make anyone else agree with my views... Just putting them out in the ether.
Though I agree with pretty much everything you said in regards to Gears, I disagree that Lost Planet is the best looking game. Neither is Gears. I would go with DiRT, but Lost Planet definitely does have a better art style.
Anyway, why I really wanted to respond to this is, I have been dying to know, how is Transformers: The Game. I'm just curious on how it is from a non-reviewers point of view.
