the game simply looks amazing the first one was great and they are building a huge fanbase could it possibly be the next halo i think so

The trailer they showed made my jaw drop. The detail was the best I have seen in a long time. If the game is everything that I think it will be it may knock halo off its feet. We will have to wait and see.

to me halo was just the average first person shotter , in the other hand gears is really unique and i reallt like that , gears owns halo in every aspect

If they manage to carve the average gameplay and average story and subpar online play into something at least decent, then sure. It'll be the next overly-hyped testosterone-drunk fanboy FPS on the market.

Well the last I read, Bungie was taking the Halo series somewhere else. They have to feel Gears catching up to them. Still, Its no way for Gears to out run, or out live Halo. I believe that Halo has a gift and a curse, they have to make a game where the Halo faithful wont complain about. They did the best thing.....ended the story. Now they can go back to the drawing board with something fresh and new. Plus they did it in a way that, if they fail with the new gritty, hardcore-like Halo....they still have Master Chief lurking in space. They can just say Poof master chief got found yadda yadda, then start back from where they finished off. IMO....Gears is great, but still they dont match up with Halo. Gameplaywise yes, overall intangables etc. NO.

Gears of War is Microsoft's flagship title for the 360 just as Halo was the flagship title for Xbox.

i do think it might. but i do think halo and gears are two completely different games. One is a third person shooter, and the other is a first person shooter. I do see gears becoming the next halo as in hype/amount of people playin/etc. I think gears is something different than halo and thats what i like. its cool that i can play two different great games..

i think gears 2 looks stunning the detail on the characters is amazing and the gameplay vid where marcus is shooting at all the locusts and theres tons of em its staggering.

I loved halo back then. but i'm not feeling it for gears. Fun and everything, but didn't enspire me like halo did.

Halo made Xbox, Gears wont be the next halo, even though it is more fun than halo, no game in recent memory can become the next halo, halo changed the way people look at video games
