I think I beat him the fourth or fifth time on Hardcore; I had figured out a pretty good strategy when I beat him on Casual and it just took a while to get used to taking more damage, etc. Plus I got a bit of luck, killed him with a grenade.
Took me quite a few times to beat him on hardcore and I had a friend help me beat him on insane I tried myself lots of times on insane and its like soon as you stick your head up you die lol.
Me and my friend did coop and beat him on insane first try. I would shoot the bow and make the bats fly off and he would snipe the head and the first time he went down, I shot my bow and then BOOOOOM his head came off the the credits rolled
Took me a lot longer on hardcore than insane. I lucked out and he chased Dom way past the mounted Troika on the train, which left me all kinds of space for tasty headshots.
As soon as i beat him on casual me and my friend wanted the achievement to beat him on hardcore and did it first time, it was pretty easy, just he fired a torque bow at him and i just lay into him with my lancer on perfect reload, found it really easy, insane took about 10 tries though.

first time and i started on hard core it was the easiest boss. I beat him first try and i just joined a game on live so it was right before when all those flying things come around
just shoot him in the face with torque. thats what idid and my partener sucked.
It actually only took me my first try to kill RAAM on hardcore, all you have to do is stay in cover at all times and never expose yourself so he can fire troika at you...and when he's close just try to stay on the opposite side in cover and never be right next to him.
it was about 8-10 times i never tried him on casual (i went straight to hardcore) and i didnt have much of a strategy so my friend laid him out with the lancer and i would shoot him with the torque bow until he finnally died
Wow I think I'm the only one who did this. I used the turret to kill him all three difficulty levels, except on insane I had a friend to help me but I still used the turret. Once Raam got close to me my friend stayed back as I headed straight for the turret to finish him off. Trust me, it works.
I got lucky and beat him 1st time on Hardcore... but when I loaded it up again to reflect on how awesome I was, he kicked my ass a couple of times. What was real stupid was that it never unlocked "A Dish Best Served Cold" even though I beat him multiple times on Hardcore both in solo and coop. I had a lot of trouble on Insane. I'd have him almost beat and he'd get right on the edge of my cover so that he'd hit me regardless of what side I was on or the kryll would have JUST come out. I finally unlocked the achievement for beating him on Hardcore when I beat it on Insane with a friend.
