A close up Chainsawing scene will lock the deal for R rated. That and if they say F*** more than once, then it's auto R rated :D You can only say the effin word once in a PG-13... last I checked.
They'll make it PG-13 for teenage ticket sales FTL. No graphic chainsaw scenes + clean language..... you can see how this one's going to end up. Maybe it will make Doom seem like Apocalypse Now.
The problem is, this movie could be great with the right vision. Unfortunately, like most video game movies, it's probably going to be a crapper and end up being PG-13 like jacksheets said just for the teenager ticket sales. For shame.
That's just the studio that's going to fund it. You can have all the money in the world but if you don't have a good script and direction you'll end up with high budget crap.

I'm afraid that a production company cannot provide the movie with anything but funding. If news comes out that the same director of LOTR (Peter Jackson) comes out maybe then i will begin to get a tad interested.

Dude, you wouldn't want Peter Jackson to touch something like Gears of War. I say Alexander Aja. The guy did High Tension and The Hills Have Eyes films. The guy is great with graphic violence, as well as beasty looking things. He could pull this film off. Well too.Â
