Hi guys.

I got a 360 yesterday, and I've got $70 in birthday money, but I don't know what I should get. Should I get Gears of War or Elder Scrolls IV? I've played Gears at my friend's house, and it's a really great game, but I've never played Elder Scrolls, but that game sounds good too.

Both games got a 9.6 from GameSpot so I'm really confused. What do you guys think?

oblivion has 100+ hours of game, plus another 30-40 if you download the expansion. gears has 10 hours. easy choice if you ask me.

Elder Scrolls, it's more immersive, more fun and longer.

It all depends on what you like.

Gears of war is fast paced and has great online play...you know about it, you've played it.

Oblivion is one of the best RPG release as of late. There's a lot of freedom and a lot of hours to be spent. No multiplayer though. But you can buy expansions for the game on XBox live. So if you like RPG's, you'll most likely like this game.

If You like RPGs then Oblivion, and you've played Gears and like that so you know what your spending your money on, but you say you only have $70, does that mean you already paid the fee to play on Live? if not and cant afford it just get Oblivion to pass the time till you can afford the subscription plus Gears =O

Thanks for the massive feedback guys. I was 100% all of you were going to say Gears, but since most of you said Oblivion, I'm now starting to change my mind.

They way I see it, Oblivion is probably the best starter game for the 360. Sheer hours of content, diverse ways to play(dungeon crawling, making spells, guilds, treasure hunting, main quest, endless combat etc.) you won't get bored. Gears is just the same old game all the way through, fun, but it'll get tiring eventually. Oblivion is also a great game to show off the raw graphical power of the 360, and I really think it's the top 3 in graphics(Gears looks good too).

Honestly though, can I recommend BioShock? It's a shooter and an RPG, so you kill 2 birds with one stone. And with 20+ hours of gameplay, you'll have fun for a long time.
