Master Chief hands down. The guy is a monster when it comes to kicking ass and taking names. But don't get me wrong, Marcus is a bad-ass too, but Master Chief would dismantle this guy.
As bada$$ as Marcus is, Master Chief takes him in this fight. Yes, the graphics in GoW are better (as far as I could tell from the beta version of Halo I played), but just cause Marcusbelongs to a better looking game doesn't mean he's tougher.

Gears of War will obviously look better then Halo because it's already been launched for the 360 with it's nasty graphics and HD gaming.. But once Halo 3 comes out at the end of the month.. Gears of War will be blown out of the water by Halo's nastier graphics and superior HD gaming experience. Not to mention the endless multi-player features and effects you can do.. Like the Map Editor.
That would be an awesome fight. The only way Marcus would win is if he said, "I'm ready to kick some as*" a bunch of times before the fight. :) And if he used his shotgun.
i think that it all depends on who has the homecourt advantage, if we were playing at gear's homecourt marcus would totally rip master chief to shreds because he could hide behind cover and just wait for master chief to come look for him and thenBLAMM!!! shotgun blast him into a dozen pieces, but if we were in master chief's home, the cheif could totally grab the invisibility thing and the extra health thing (i cant remember the official names for this items, damn i've been away from halo 2 that long) and just wait for marcus to pop his head out and he would totally creep up on marcus and also shotgun blast him into a dozend pieces, so in my opinion it would end up being a draw they both have their strenghts and weaknesses if they were going against eachother.
