I just like the team play in Gears better. The fact that if you die you have to wait is also better IMO. I do like playing Halo3 with my friends though.
Halo 3 by a long shot. Neither are particularly innovative, but at least Halo 3 is fun... the single player campaign is longer and more interesting, there's actually a story there, there's more variance and strategy involved and your teammates are much more useful. As far as multiplayer goes, I don't even know where the debate would be. Gears is just a bunch of 13 year olds running in circles blasting away at shotguns until the host finally gets all the kills they need for the game to end.
Halo 3 all the way. Gameplay, STORY, and great but awesome extras. Gears could hve better graphics and allf oof that. But Halo gots also tremendous graphics, do you know why? Well beacuse first its images are very clear and lighted with colors, Gears of War normally is dark and it falls in clearness. The other well Halo is a perfection when you play online, NO GLITCHES!!!!! In Gears of War you got more than 10 glitches and more than 10 graphic erros. Thats all I can say about these 2 great games. Is not that me a fan says so, because it is the truth.
P.S: A detail I like in Gears very much is its Blood effect :P, c ya.
I feel like these are both great games. Gears even with it's glitches on a whole was still a fun experience. But all Haloites know one thing, the Party System makes and breaks games online. Had Gears had a descent party system IMO alot of the glitches online could've been overlooked. Every game has a glitch or two. But atleast if your dying in some God awful way, it's with your (Clan) dying together. Halo 3 for me.
i think their both great games. personally, while i loved gears, i also don't get into the atmosphere as much as i do with halo. it kinda reminded me of doom or quake in that sort of gritty, gory kind of way. thats fine and everything but halo feels more like a summer blockbuster and i like that about it.
I really liked Gears a lot because it was refreshing, lot's of fun, cool single player,...but for me the multiplayer was not what I expected. I hated the fact that the shotgun was/is too powerful up close and in many of the challenges it would be the only weapon you would use. And that's where halo 3 makes the difference for me, the single player portion is comparable, but the multiplayer is far more expanded and more fun to play and keep playing! So my vote goes to Halo 3!
Halo 3 is more complete and balanced, and has more of everything. Halo 3 combat is about 3 things, Greandes, Melee, and Shooting. Gears of War is about Tactics, Cover, and Weapons. If Gears of War had more weapons, more maps, less glitches and bugs, less lag, better balanceand more content it would have beaten Halo.
