i love gears but you can't deny that halo 3 is better because of the matchmaking system the story it provided. Halo 3 mutiplayer dominats gears because its not a battle to play you just get to play. in gears its all about the weapon kills and it got so ridiculus it wasn't worth it. Halo 3 is a better game but thats not to say that gears is a bad game. Gears would have been better without thoses acheivements. Gears has the ability to be a star like halo and i think that the next gears will see a release like halo 3's
If Gears had matchmaking it would pwn:D. Sadly though, it doesn't. It depends if you like fast paced action (Halo) or a bit slower, tactical experience (Gears)
I think in their own ways they are equally great. But I migh have to give the edge to Gears because of people just gettin destroyed(bodies ripping in half).
Halo3 is probably better allthough i don't feel it's super fair to compare them as Gears is the first of it's series. And Halo3 is the third attempt right? They had two previous chances to fine tune everything to as close to perfection as they can get. I'll wait for Gears 2 or 3
I liked the Halo3 story better but only because Gears of War's story was missing quite a bit. Allthough if they had taken out that BS after the credits in Halo3 i'd have enjoyed the ending much much more.

Getting used to bulletlag, host advantage and host shotgun dosent mean it means more skill. Gears is overrated MP becouse of the way thay messed up with that stuff.
But for singleplayer. I found them to be even, but online, Halo 3 is so far ahead. Becouse all the crap in gears.
lol I played both today, Ive got to say that halo 3 is better to me now but that fact that its been a year and gears is still this hella popular game means somethign, lets see how much talk halo 3 gets next year before really thinking hard on this Question.
