So you think that al of a sudden the greatness that Bungie has shown in keeping Halo 2 going strong on XBOX Live for over two years is suddenly going to vanish on an even more powerful console and a much improved XBOX Live? I think GoW is a great game and all but it's nothing when compared to Halo. Halo's multiplayer is very fast paced and it seems there's nothing that's wrong with it, besides the occasional modder but that's very rare now. I think Halo 3 is going to completely redefine next gen mulitiplayer as we know it,
I like Gears of War online a bit better, but I think they are a little less comparable.

I am not sure what matches you have played in, but you obviously have no idea. I do agree with the lack of game modes.
Playing the same 3 gametypes and taking forever to play a ranked with a friend while using the same 3 weapons is going to be more fun than Customizable gametypes and easy matchmaking? GeoW got boring in a month while Halo 2 only got old about a month ago and I've had Halo 2 since release.
I'm sorry but comparing GoW and Halo 2 or 3 is just a sin. Halo 2 owns GoW online, period. Halo 2 STILL is the game that has the most hours played everyday on Xbox Live. Don't believe me? Go ask Microsoft. I've read it in an article about 1 month back.
And Halo 3? Please. That will blow away GoW. GoW Is going to completely die out soon. It's just way too much of a repetitive game. You die, spawn in the same spot for the 900th time in a row, kill or die once more. It's all about rushing one or two weapons.Â

I got tired on Halo 2 in a month. I guessing that the game play will not change much in Halo 3. I admit that GoW lacks weapons, modes, and clans ops, but the gameplay is what shines. THe gameplay with halo is so basic.
imo GoW is at least 10x better than halo and halo 2 in gameplay. There are no tactics whatsoever unless you get some guys you know well and that dont act stupid. in gow, strategy is integrated into the gameplay with the cover and all
gears is completely different than halo, i dont thik either will cancel eachother because they each play 2 different tastes, gears is more slow paced and tactical and halo is crazy intense.
Gears is not really that slow paced online, Rainbow six Vegas is, however. Halo isn't really crazy intense either. You bounch around like balirenas spraying and praying

gears is a lot slower paced than halo most of the time, you get people hiding and being sneaky where in halo its always just an all out brawl especially rumble pit. sometimes there opposite with gow being super intense and absoulutly ridiculous and halo can be slow paced but generally halo is fast paced and gears is too but to a lesser extent

I totally disagree. Halo2 ran XBL for a year until Gears, and that was a xbox game...what makes u think that Bungie wont improve already on what was such a great multiplayer game? Dont get me wrong Gears is fun too, but it is goin to be old by time Halo3 hits. U must be crazy to think that Gears will hinder Halo3s online... This is Halo man, this aint ur average.
the only game IMO that will challenge GoW is Unreall Tournament such a great looking game but I'm not really into futuristic games like halo nor unreal that is probably why I like GoW and don't tell me GoW is futuristic too because the guns look BARBARIC lol gotta love that chainsaw and the setting is still somewhere around our time

Its not about the weapons, its about the gameplay. Granted, the weakest link the GoW giant is its lack of modes. However, the pure essence of the game makes up for it and will decry Halo 3 in the final analysis

I have no doubt people will be playing Halo 3 online. Nevertheless, I doubt people will quit playing GoW. However, after going from a hyper-reilistic shooter to a pimple face, sub standared, arcade first person shooter surley there will be people left feeling like there's something missing in Halo 3.Â

You know what the really funny thing about Halo 2 was? That it was rushed. The multiplayer was thrown together pretty quickly, as reported by many people at Bungie. Heck, one of the employees even said he refused to play halo2 mp because he saw all the wasted potential. Yet it still remains one of the most played XBL games and has been for years. Halo 3 on the other hand isn't being rushed. They're taking their sweet time on this game, and I'm glad. I want them to make the last game in the series as close to perfection as they possibly can.Â
I bet all of you that come November 2007 you will ALL have Halo 3 and GOW will be on your shelf. Gears is fun. It is not that fun to play for a year. ESPECIALLY with all the good games coming out.
Honestly while gears is fun the net code and millions of glitches that actually make the gameplay unballenced (unlike Halo 2's Superjumps) makes me hate the multiplayer in that game I find GRAW and COD3 to have much better multiplayer and i have no doubt that halo 3 will trump it

well other than halo2 could you really think of any other better online game for xbox than it that is why they don't have choice now unreal is on the way with GOW and UNREAL tournament UBISOFT is competing with it's games and then you still have the CODs and the Medal of Honors
Rainbow6 vegas is better than both those games (halo2&GoW) you get a ranking system that lets you unlock things so you feel as if you are accomplishing something and its fun to work hard and be able to carry and use weapons or clothing that someone else cant because they havent put in the time you have!!! in my opinion and yes its only my opinion Gears and Halo need to catch up!!!!!!
