my friend just got xbox live, and we wanted to know if we could play gears of war on split screen on live without me having my own live account. is that possible?
You can but you need your own live account, but you can create a new account and get 1 month free if you really want (or actiate yours online if you havent for a 1 month trial)
i see. well getting my own account wouldnt make sense right now. i dont have my own 360, and i only go over on weekends so ill just wait till i get my own 360 in a couple of months. thanks for the help though:]
Nope. You need two accounts, both with live. That means you have to pay twice.
A way to get around this problem is to make a new account and get the free 1 month trial of Xbox Live. Then you can play split-screen online.

dont listen to him...he doesnt know what he is talking about...OF COURSE you can play split screen with one account on live!!!!! just sign the second player as a guest by pressing "Y" in the multiplayer mode
alright i get it now, well at least now i know. when he gets his 360 back from MS ill be over there alot more.yayyfood
lol alright ...laters...just remember ...when ur at the main menu....go to versus....look on the bottom of the screen to see sign in as guest...if its not there in the versus screen.....go to the custom player matches..and look on the bottom....im not sure which screen was it ...it was either versus menu..or custom player matches menu....alright...enjoy :)
