gears is absolute rubbish, the lag, host advantage, glitches galor make it abysmal. halo 3 doesn't seem that fun online. i like cod4, cod3, and orange box much better for online.
It all really comes down to personal opinion. Right now there are three big camps. Gears of War, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. It all comes down to taste.
Personally, I like Halo 3 the most, Gears second and I wouldn't even put CoD at third since I don't really like it. I had more fun with Beautiful Katamari than Call of Duty 4.
If you mean which is played most though, Halo 3, obviously.
Really? Seriously? Gears of War is one of my favourite single player games, but the multiplayer feels like it was tacked on at the last minute. Nearly every game I've played has boiled down to who gets the longshot/boomshot first, or shotgun strafing. The sparse gameplay options, host advantage, lag, and glitches didn't help.
rainbow 6 never was much of a twitch shooter fan i liked cod3 and 2 ok hate 4 halo is alright too i want to try out team fortress gears was good to but rainbow 6 is still my fav mp
i love gears. i loved it so much that i bought it for PC after my 360 broke and had to get repairs just so i could play it while my 360 was away. I have to say though, it's been dethroned by Call of Duty 4. The amount of gametypes, challenges, and unlockables in CoD4make this game extremely addictive and the new king of Xbox Live FPS. Halo 3 isgreat for being an overall awesome MP game but Call of Duty 4 holds the Shooter throne.

Pretty much hit the nail with the hammer. Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3's MP are lightyears better than Gears' MP.

gears of war multiplayer sucks. this stupid host advantage takes all the fun out of it. it is so unfair. the host advantage is quite possibly hte stupidest invention of all time. no offense to those who like it, but i personally think gow mp is horrible.

i stopped GRAW 2 MP as soon as i got booted from games by snobby brits that are afraid they'll lose to a noob. Call of Duty 4 is and will be the new king of MP shooters on Xbox Live for a while.

Ipersonally stick to Vegas. It has alot more content than gears and very little lag. I could go several games without even noticing a bit of lag. Vegas is just WAY funner and less of a d*&$ measuring contest like Gears is.
The cheaters play Gears. I agree the host does have the advantage. You might want to play all the games that just came out within the last week than make your decision. Call of Duty for is the best. I don't anything is close. Halo gets old.

gears was fun until december 25 2006 and it was all downhill from there of course by that time i was on rainbow six and loving it r6v has already outlasted all the mp games ive bought including gh3 saints row and cod 3 (although i still play alot of gh3)
Ppl who think gears is amazing in its MP are ppl who only host games. When you host games in gears you only lose like 1% of the time. In fact the only times I ever won in gears are when I hosted, and the only times I ever lost, was when I just joined games. It's extremely flawed in its networking and that's really surprising considering Epic makes the unreal franchise.
