hells yes. I'll admit, i never finished the first gears of war, so maybe thats why i never could understand the hype. its not a bad game, but just seemed a little shallow at times.
mgs on the other hand is my favorite series EVER. PERIOD. If i had the money to buy i ps3 just for mgs4 i would in a heart beat. Great stories + good characters+ great gameplay = awesome in every sense of the word.
my advice to all the fanboys who are sure to post soon: make sure you play Snake Eater before you even try to tell me that gow has a better story then mgs.
i have to say on my favorite games of all time metal gears was like the first then gears came along and now they are both number 1 with shenmue, kingdom hearts, street fighter, resident evil and more.
is that like a trick (TAR TARD) question or something? MGS hands down...I like Gears of war but IT AINT NO METAL GEAR by a long shot. The sheer size, scope, and intelligence that went into MGS4 is a work of art
No I would rather play a hardcore shooter game like Gears any day before i play MGS where I would be hiding under a trash can while enemies walk past me
Nah, probably not. As much as I love MGS and all the game in its franchise, Gears really has my heart with it's revolutionary visuals and intense action. Gears is more of my style.
I never played any other previous MG game besides a few which weren't for me. I'm getting a ps3 and MGS4 isn't even that big of a deal to me.craigalan23

I meant like Gears of War 3 or Metal Gear Solid 4, should of been more descriptive but everyone else seemed to get it and what do you mean by left 4 dead and mirrors edge. Mirrors Edge is on everything
Not a chance, the only MGS game i liked was MGS1 after that i tried 2, 3, 4 and even the PSP one and just thought they were kinda boring (and far to movie driven), i understand why people like them though BUT no way would i give up GOW for them.
both great games, but i prefer gears. MGS4 is a great game but i just couldnt get into it, or the other games of the series. ur watching more than actually playing the game, and the story to me seems overdone, and overrated. theres way too many twists and turns. it tries too hard.
Well comparing these 2 games that are COMPLETELY different is ridiculous. But I'd have to go with MGS b/c it will never be topped by any game. Every single one is a masterpiece. I beat the 1st and 3rd 7 times each. They are incredible.
Probably not...I mean Little Big Planet is comparable to Viva Pinata....they're both lil kids games......although I did quite enjoy watching the furballs make children in Viva Pinata....At the moment...Xbox has ALL the exclusives......Gears...Gears2...Mirrors Edge...L4D...Fable..Fable2...Forza2...Halo...
All that for Metal Gear Solid (dont get me wrong...great game) and Little Big Planet....No thanks I'll stick with what I have
