I did it on co-op. Get lots of heatshots with the sniper. Maybe try to get the turret in there. Its hard, you just have to do it over and over untill you get it.
I used the Torque Bow, grenades and the shotgun i think. Somehow i finished him off when he got to the block at the beginning, towering over me and i pwned with the shotgun.
I will tell you how i did it. It took about 30 attempts though, and that's no kidding. Use the shotgun and the Lancer (chainsaw-gun as it's known). As soon as you start, crouch behind the concrete block in front of you. Dom will run off and get killed. Dont bother reviving him unless he dies right next to you. It's not worth the hassle. Wait for Raam to be close enough for you to see him (ie not obscured by bits of cover like he is to begin with). Now blindfire a grenade, they nearly always get him. It'll blow, the kryll will fly off for a bit, and that's your chance to pump him full of lancer lead. You can pop up and aim for his head, but i find i get way more hits just blindfiring at him. As he gets closer, throwing the grenades gets much easier. When he's close enough, switch to the shotgun. Now it gets EASY. When you get a grenade to go off by him, or he sends the kryll at you, blindfire your shotgun at him. You should get a good four or five solid hits before he's got his shield back up. It'll take 20 hits max to bring him down; much less depending on the range. Him getting close will be your main issue. When he walks to move around the concrete block, run down to the other end. This SHOULD make him stop and move in the other direction, so you can always keep him on the other side. If not, quickly dive over once he's on your side and simply turn around and get straight back into cover. It shouldn't be a problem if you shotgun him ;)
I would say that you need the tourque bow and the sniper rifle along with max grenades. I found that if I shoot all my tourque bow shots at him that it hurts him even with the krill flying around him. Make sure you get every shot off on him and make sure you got more than 10 when you get there. If you get it right then you shouldnt have to leave your intial hiding spot that you start off at. Fire the bow till empty and then throw grenades at him to spook the krill away and fire the sniper rifle. Aim for his head the best you can and perfect reloads are a must. It will take some tries and some time but it will work. Sometimes he just runs right up on you right at the begining and sometimes he sits back. When he sits back during most of the fight then this stradegy usally works for all difficulties.
Listen do co-op, you and your partner get the sniper rifles with sniper ammo. Then each get the torque bows with bow ammo. and shoot him in the head when bats aren't around him. :)

Yeah, but the "harder" leads you to try new strategies. I just killed him with the lancer on hardcore, but on insane he kicked my ass so many times i realised i had to change tactics. On hardcore, he's usually dead before he's standing right next to you. On insane, it becomes a problem because you literally have him standing right in front of your cover, moving around the side. If you try to get up and move somewhere else, you're dead more or less instantly unless you get really lucky. Therefore, killing him before he gets to you is a must - and it's damn tricky.
what I did by myself to defeat RAAM in insane, grab some frags the tourque bow, and the lancer, shoot him with the bow until you run out, then when hes close bilnd throw frags and unload with lancer, repeat until hes down

And what I did is not run to the other side of the train, but stay right on the other side of a small block and dry fire at him over the top. Try to move around it and don't let him get on the same side or your dead, just keep emptying clip after clip over the top without aiming so it's hard for him to hit you.

I found the Torque Bow very useful, as well! Even though it takes a long time to charge, it does lots of damage and will repel all of the Kryll, which is very handy.
I beat him alone, all I had to do is get him stuck behind one of the concrete blocks and he didnt even fire at me, all I did was shoot him till he was dead.

This guy has the right idea! Get him stuck and cheat him to death! I did it by myself like this on Hardcore... lol and it does work you just have to keep jumping over the block until he gets stuck then lob the grenades off the side wall and then lancer blind fire!

It's best to do it on co-op.... but anyways, get tons of headshots with the Longshot as well as the Torque Bow, he'll go down in no time... This dude and I beat him 3rd try before he ever got halfway over to us, I got 8 headshots with the Torque Bow, and he got about 5 headshots with the Longshot.
well it took me a hell of a lot of tries, but i beat him by myself on insane with just a longshot and a lancer. the trick to snipe him as much as you can (get as many perfect active reloads as you can), and when he gets to the concrete block which is your cover and starts to move around it, you go the other way. dont go right to the other end, stay in the light about 3/4 of the way along. RAAM should then start to follow you along the barrier. when hes about to come around that side move to the other side again, blindfiring with the lancer the hole time; again, aim for perfect active reloads. If you get the timing and placing right, RAAM should never get around this barrier, so eventualy you'll kill him.
do it on co-op. use the torque bow on his head, over and over and over and over again. your buddy should snipe his head once the kryle fly off his head.
I remember that A****** damn he was hard. I depleted all my ammo in my main guns and the nades... had to take him down with the pistol. Took me 20 tries probably. He is no fun, reminded me of the retard Halo2 boss...
ramm is difficult on insane mode non co-op... my friend stayed over and played it with me and we were just messing around to see if we could kill him... we did it on our second time until then my friend had played act 1 on casual... so it isnt that hard then we beat insane mode over the weekend
I figured out a strategy a couple months ago when I was playing Gears. I have beaten Raam on insane about 8 times now. Ok so what you need is a torque bow fully loaded, and a fully loaded lancer rifle. Also have 4 grenades. start off at the beginning and immediately torque him in the chest or head ( chest is a better chance of hitting) then as soon as the kryll get off of him hit him again with the torque. Shoot him with as many torque shots as you can before he is walking alongside the pipes. It is best if he sends the Kryll after you because if you do it right you can get 3 torque shots on him when he does that.
When he is walking along the pipes coming toward you, I recommend having 1 torque left shoot him with it and when he is almost at the end of the pipes, position yourself with the grenades so that you bounce all 4 of them off the front of pipes so they bounce back in front of your cover. All the grenades will explode on him and cause major damage.
If he isn't dead now what you do is go in a circle taking cover. Go to the side (whichever way is best depending on where he is) and shoot and keep taking cover. The 2 square concrete blocks that look like they are kind of in darkenss are actually not. You can use them to circle around him. Keep doing this switching directions when necessary until he is done. Remember if you still have torque shots to use them. Once you get teh strategy down it isn't very hard at all.. it should take you a couple tries
on hardcore me and my bro did it together and i used sniper and he used torque bow the plan was awsome and it worked first time its gonna be just the same on insne just a lil harder
