Geometry wars... pretty fun, but i STINK any tips?

in every thread that asks about xbla games, one game is on just about everyone's top "X" list. geometry wars.

i played the demo and sucked at it, but thought maybe the difficulty got harder in a short amount of time for the demo so you could see all the visual stimulation. since the game was only 400 points, i went ahead and bought it.

bad news; the difficulty, for me, remained. i truly suck at this game. i don't really have any tactics, i just fly around in one direction and shoot at stuff in another.

my high score is 108,050, and only achievement was worth 5 points for a score over 100,000.

what are some tips you can give me with this game? i want to play it more often, but the other achievements are so far out of my reach, it's not high on my priorities list.

I love geometry wars. TIPS:

Use the black holes to your advantage. There are points in the game where they are making more guys than your rate of fire. Use the black holes to store the extra guys until there is a break in the action.

Keep moving and shoot in a sweeping motion.

Try to put split the enemy. Instead of going around the sides of the area where mostly like they will spawn kill you, try to go through the center of the group as many times as you can and clean up the leftovers.

Exactly^^ Another useful tip: Go in a relatively big circle, all the stuff will follow you, and you can just pick them off by shooting backwards but moving forwards. My friend and I could never get above 300k until we started doing that, now he has like 1.5million or something like that. Which still isnt crap compared to some people. How they get like 30million and higher is beyond me.
