I got Gears 2 for xmas and matchmaking takes forever. I know it is not my connection. My internet is fast and connected manually not wirelessly. I have no other problems finding games on any of my other 360 and regular xbox games. CODWaW, Halo 2 and 3, COD4, Gears of War 1, and so forth. Im not overreacting with the time it takes. I started matchmaking to find any game possible and ordered a pizza, microwaved it, ate it, and walked the dog. The game still hadnt joined a single game. I've found that its easier for me to just join a friends game. And when i do, the game works fine, no lag, or anything like that. And yes, I have tried picking a single game mode and trying to search. i have had it since xmas and have only been able to play 3 matchmaking games. Is anyone else having this problem???

Gears 2 is definately not one of the best matchmaking games. When you are lucky enough to find a game, you'll find that it lags like you wouldn't believe. If you have Gears 1, play that. If not, you can try playing Gears 2 online, or you could just stick to campaign and play online in one of your other games...

.....bahhh. For the millionth time, that's fixed now. If not, it takes a while in the beginning. But it's not really like that anymore. Not for most of us anyway, if you continue to play it. It only takes up to 2 to 3 minutes for me. Sometimes just a few seconds. It took a long time when I first got the game. Those problem are fixed now so you shouldn't be experiencing them.

depends on the router but in general (and i dont know aobut independent modems but am assuming its a router anyway) get into your routers settings by opening a web browsers on a pc thats on your network and typing in the routers ip address (its usually 192.168.2.1 for most routers but if someone else has set it up check with them)

then you'll probs have to feel around for it cause different routers have different interfaces but youll usually find it some where inn the security section

keep in mind whilst thats open theres a slight increase of chance of outside attack, not too major a chance cause of the other security features on pcs but just so you know

EDIT: just checked me router settings, its in advanced sorry not security and mines setso that all fieldsyou can enter info in are blank which i assume means no restrictions are applied, dont know what happens if you disable the NAT module itself
