Get a 360 now or wait for Elite?

if your willing to pay the extra money for a elite even though its just rumors right now you should probably wait just to be sure but if it doesnt come out in april then get the premiumPacBoy23

Even though it's just a rumour I would wait. If it's not true, then you can pick up a Premium anyway. But if it is true, then you'll be banging you're head on the table after it's in stores a week after you purchased you're Premium.

It's rumoured to be 80 dollars more though. But I think if you were going to spend 400 dollars anyway, you might as well spend the extra 80 on more.

And the Elite is suppose to have no malfunctions at all where the regular has loads. The 120GB HDD will cost allot more then 80 dollars. And 1080p is a big difference when you see it.

So you're saying he should buy it now, have a less stable machine and get the 120GB HDD for a total of 500+ dollars while he could have a stable machine with all the bells and whistles and 120GB HDD from the start for only 480 dollars? Great advice there. 

You know the people at this website and EGM like to run thier annual EGM Easter April Fool's joke.  I think everyone is falling for this one; hook, line, and sinker.

I dont' think there really is a black XBOX 360 with all the better specs.  Wiat until next month's EGM.

I think im just gonna buy one sooner, but by the time I actually go and Buy it, it will probobly be mid April. The only question I have now is whats 1080p? does that have to do with graphics?...Im not sure what that numbers for.DeathMob

I completely agree. There aren't any great games coming out yet that waiting a month would be torture. The point about the HDD is exactly right. You guys are kidding yourselves if you think a 120 GB HDD will be less than $150. So wait for the better machine and save at least $70.

The only reason to buy a 360 now is if you're poor like me and can only get a few games and only have a SD tv. The HD upgrade doesn't matter to me, and I don't have enough saves to warrent the need for an additional 100 GB HDD

I have a thread open about this too, but what the people of my thread are saying is that, you could pretty much buy a xbox right now with a warranty and return it if and when a xbox elite comes out for store credit. Pay the difference and vwallah. I'm just trying to find a place that offers a good warranty. anyone know one?Cloverz7

I thought about that. but they'll only give you a new premium, not an Elite. Nice try though. Only would work if the Premium is cut.

I doubt the Elite is real, I say just buy the premium now, but it's completely your choice. The question you should be asking yourself is: Does the Elite actually exist? I suggest maybe going to EB/GameStop and consulting one of the workers.

u sound like ur getin one becus it has less problems, only a handful who bought the 360 at launch had problems.

People don't believe what they say, although between me and my dad we've asked over 10 different workers at 4 locations of Gamestop/EB and 2 of Best Buy and all know about it, knew the name, and were waiting on the SKU before they were taking pre-orders.  Hell, even a female worker at the Gamestop near me knew exactly what it was and said they were waiting for the SKU to be entered into their systems before they began taking pre-orders.  Even a 65 year old man working at the Wal-Mart media department knew about it and told me that they weren't doing pre-orders for it because it isn't a true "next" console.

People just don't like knowing that later adopters are getting something they couldn't.

I'd dont know if they're calling it the "Elite" but Microsoft definetely has the 120 GB, Black 360 coming out soon (check latest edition of GameInformer). Personally I'd wait for that to come out, unless you just need to have it now. I like the addition of the 120 GB drive, but what I'd do is compare the price of the new drive once they release it, to the difference of trading in the old 360 towards the new one if the difference is the about the same or less I'll do the trade, if not just buy the drive.StromileSwiftee
