I finally tried out GH II at GS, and although I played for only like 10 mins, I did enjoy the experience and think I may want to try and get a copy myself. Thing is I don't know if I should get 2 or just wait until 3 comes out. I've read on here people being pissed that GHII came out with 3 right on the horizon, but then again it did get great ratings. The wired/wireless controller thing isn't a big deal for me, and quite frankly the USB guitar is somewhat appealing if I can get it to work on my cpu. One last thing is that I seem to get the impression that GHII is very hard, at least compared to GH1 (which I don't think is worth getting since the controller won't be compatible with 3.) Is the game still fun or manageable as it goes on, or do you just eventually hit a "wall" of difficulty?

If you want, you can get Guitar Hero 2, full set (game & guitar).

When Guitar Hero 3 comes out, you only need to buy the game!  Or, buy both so you can have 2 guitars (I don't know how people seem to get a guitar as Iv'e never seen it sold seperately).

I'm not very fast with the guitar because I'm a bit older than you youngsters but I still beat the 'medium' difficulty level with 5 stars on each song.  Hard is... well... really hard for me.  I Suppose if you mean a "wall of difficulty" it would be right there, from medium to hard.

but the game does give you the option to practice songs, slow them down, etc..., until you get it right.

It's totally up to you, but GH2 is not a bad purchase.

I higly recommend it.

I bought it on release date and still play it a  lot and i usually never play a game for more then a week.

It is very satisfiying

I never played the PS2 version and when i got it i beat medium level with 5 stars reviews on every song.

Yesterday i beat the game on hard as well...it was a big challenge for me but i enjoyed it a lot and still played today.

GET IT

I say if you enjoyed GHII get it then when GHIII comes out just get the disk instead of the guitar bundle.
