Sign at the url aboveif you want to get rid of the new block on M rated content. Also please spread this across the known universe.

I know I am annoyed about this new feature from the Fall Update and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm asking Microsoft to either remove the system entirely or put in an override option under Parental Controls. And I don't want to wait for the Spring Update for this it needs to come out as soon as possible.

Buying games rated M is not illegal for kids under 18 some stores just choose to use this policy. Microsoft is fully protected from being sued since they have an entire Parental Controls System, it's not their fault that parents choose not to bother using it. That system already covers the issue of children downloading things they should not but, then Microsoft chose to come out with this update and not have an override for it.

Now I can't play demos of games I am thinking about buying if they are rated over Mature but, I can still purchase them. That's bad for Microsoft and worse for Publishers', because if I can't try before buying chances are I won't buy it at all. If you agree with me please sign at theurl above.

See, I would like to do this, but my account management is screwed up, and whenever I go to something like changing my Live ID, it tells me that I cant connect to Xbox Live and to try again later. Ugh. I have an awful taste in my mouth right now over the Live service as a whole.

Have you tried doing it on xbox.com? I'm not positive if you can do it but i know there is an option to change the primary email and such. But your actualy Live ID has to stay what you used on signup

Just tried through xbox.com.

No use. Apparently Microsoft wants their say to be valued more than that of a parent's.

Parents are responsible for their kids, simple is that. They are the most important figure in a child's development.

The kids aren't the problem. It's US (the people who are actually 17+ years old) that is getting irritated of the ban. Also, I can't download RP demos either (including XBLA).

Actually, we can download PURCHASED content. Just not free stuff, though I'm not really sure about this.

Not only have the kids been able to access it for 2 years before the Fall Update but, the parents would have nothing to sue based on since Mature rated content is not restricted by law from children. And since Microsoft already has an option like this in the Parental Controls but, decided to add another that can't be switched off the parents could have been restricting their children all along.

I can see why those under 18 are so mad about this, they've had access to this content for 2 years, why now? But what gets under my skin is I'm 17, so I can legally under the ESRB buy M rated content or an R rated movie, so what gives? Microsoft couldn't have made it 17 could they have? Is it cause I'm still technically a minor? This kind of control on content I have full access to is disgusting.

It won't work, you should have just put your age as over 18 when you made your account. Lesson learned...

Anyone can legally buy an M rated game, it's not aganist the law for anyone of any age to buy M rated content.

What if I made my account on the original Xbox with my dad when I was 13? You know what they say, Hindsight is 20/20. If I would have know that MS would do something as stupid as this I would have changed my age.

Also it is stupid thatI can download M rated Arcade game demos, but not RP or M rated full game demos.

If its not restriced how come stores can get fined if they sell to minors without checking ids. Welcome to the real world kid. It is the law alot of stores just choose to igore it and soon they will get burned. simple as that

no not anyone can legaly buy an M rated game. Just those over the age of 17. If stores are found to sell them to minors they can be fined which in turn makes it an illegal act. Misdemenior but illegal none the less.

Saying something you're not is a breach of contract...People that do this do not deserve to use Live.  Although I strongly believe that it is up to the parents to decide if their children can access M rated content, if you want to use Live then you must accept Microsoft's rules.  Lesson learned.http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/legal/

I've been living in the real world and it is NOT a law to sell M rated games to minors. Some stores such as Gamestop made it a policy not to sell M rated games to minors and they willpunish the store that breaks there policy. Next time do your research before coming in here and making statements.

Mircrosoft could be sued for false advirtising if they cant accseess mature content. A simple option would have cleared this whole mess up but no lets not think logically.
