Hey everyone,

I'm soon to get a 360 with the money I saved up from working. However, which version is the one for me? How crucial is it that I wait it out for the 360 Elite? Or should I wait until the fall for the updated hardware? Is the regular good enough?

Someone fill me in please, it'd be much appreciated.

The Xbox 360 doesn't have updated hardware. Nobody knows whether its more/less prone to failure, but it's the same hardware, except for the hard drive and HDMI output. The GPU, CPU, heatsinks, DVD drive, and RAM is all the same.

If you're going to wait at all, wait for the 65nm version of the Xbox 360 to come out (and, honestly, take it over the Elite, unless you've got HDMI input on your HDTV and REALLY plan on using that space). They should be making them in May and you should be able to buy one in September, according to Gametrailers.

I'd only get an Elite if you've got a really nice HDTV and all that noise. If not stick with the premium or the core...

ok vert, before i write, please dont take offense to this, but you have got to be a sweaty mongoloid not to get the elite. its simple addition - buying the elite not only saves you so much money you would spend on extra accessories to match the elite, but the elite is the only 360 console with HDMI, soon to be the standard of video cables.

spend 400 bucks for a 20 gig x360 or spend 480 bucks for a 120 gig x360. dont belive all the bullsh*t hatred for the ellite. if you dont  own a x360 period IT is worth it getting the ellite. or you can wait till fall/winter to get an ellite for the new chips. your choice.

for people who own a 360 now, i would say it is not worth it getting a 360 ellite but only getting the etra HDD.

I'm in this guy's same position.  I don't have an HDMI input in my tv and could really care less about HD.  I'm fine with regular 480i components (although once I get an HD set I'm sure that will change).  My thing is that the 120gb hard drive is pretty tempting, but I'm really not going to be downloading movies or tv shows, so should I just go with the premium?
